Traveling thru for work. I'm pretty critical when it comes to food and I can honestly say this place was refreshingly good as well as reaso ably priced. Arrived at 8pm on a Tuesday and there was only one couple in here. Initially almost drove off as I interpreted that as a sign of bad food. I'm happy I came in. I got the special with beef ravioli in white sauce and tortellini with red sauce. Solid 8.2, but again I'm critical.
We weren’t sure of where to go for dinner and came across this place since we have never been. It looks authentic with the inside decor outdated and like most Italian restaurants that have been around for 20+ years. The food tasted like spagetti-O’s from a can. The ravioli was clearly just frozen ravioli with frozen shrimp thrown on there with canned Alfredo white sauce. Nothing to it. Really there was no depth or flavor to the food it was definitely not homemade sauce. Our tab was $117 for two pastas , Bruschetta that also was missing the balsamic reduction and a bottle of wine. I don’t mind paying $25 for pasta if it actually tastes good. The soup was the most disgusting part - potato and mushroom . So bland. Our server was nice and friendly. I didn’t have the heart to tell him that the food was awful since he said he grew up here and the owners are family friends. It’s really unfortunate that tricities doesn’t have any good food.We hardly ever go out here since we know how to cook and haven’t really found a nice restaurant we enjoy. we decided it might be fun to try something since we were at work meetings and last minute decided to go out. Now we know to just go home!
Small local owned Italian restaurant. Food here is absolutely worth the price and the wait. If you are hoping to get a peice of the famous lasagna you need to get there early. I would highly recommend reservations as this restaurant gets very busy and only hold aprox 50 guests. The inside and outside of the building are very beautiful and well done. There is a small private room you can reserve for a larger group. There is a large selection of wine to choose from for your dinner as well as non alcoholic beverages. Prices are a tad on the high side but worth it. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if yiu havent for some of the best Italian food.
Valentines weekend date ! Tortellini is GREAT ! FRESH Pasta. Lovely wine menu. Better than Olive Garden !
My wife decided to try this place after hearing how good it was. The best thing about the meal was the potato mushroom soup which was interesting but eatable. But rest of the meal not so much. The Alfredo sauce had no flavor. None. The meat sauce was a little better simply because tomatoes have flavor. Not much beyond that. The canoli that I had for dessert was pretty good, I have to say. It hurts me to write this review because the waitress was nice and personable and the wife of the chef.
I’m really not one to post a negative review, however, when I arrived to Bella Italia I was kinda excited. The building from the outside looks stunning, like right out of little Italy. I walk in to what I thought was the front door, coming straight from the parking lot. I walked into someone’s living while they were eating in front of the tv that I was now blocking. It was extremely awkward and uncomfortable. There was no where to stand, like a receiving area. I gave them my name for the reservation, they walked away, again leaving me in the middle of where everyone was eating, totally awkward. They took me to my seat, it was in the back room kinda place. There was a larger party in there and one other couple. There was also all their over flow for their paintings, large chairs , Christmas storage items, dying poinsettias, and other items that seemed to be storage items. The seat I was seated in was against that wall not leaving much room on the already too small table. Once seated they gave me two menus for their wine selection. I was under the impression that that was all they served for drinks. Granted, I never asked, but they never indicated anything either. We were given menus for food and never told about the specials. It wasn’t until we went to leave that we seen there were specials. The food we ordered was way less than desirable. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, meatballs we add-ons and were not even home made. Their bread was made off site and served cold. I would say that most items were purchased at various outlet stores and assembled at the restaurant. Of course I’m guessing based on the food taste and presentation. Salads were four slices of tomato and romaine lettuce with some sort Vinaigrette oil dressing. Every time we asked our waitress for something there was at least a 15 min delay before she would arrive back to us. She did apologize profusely tho. Even if the entry was weird and service was slow if the food would have been good it would have been fine. We understand it’s a trying time for everyone in the service based industry especially the food service. I’m hoping this isn’t the norm for Bella Italia and they find a way in these uncertain times to get back on track and put out good food with good service. I’m sorry I even have to give a review like this!
Best Italian in the Tri-Cities area, hands down. Feels like walking into your chosen Nonna's kitchen. Best service where they seem to treat everyone like family. Gnocchi is *chef's kiss*— would love to see pet nat on the menu next time. Love you Bella Italia!
Friendly service, great food, beautiful interior and exterior, highly recommend. I ordered the Penne al Arrabbiata, delicious.
Absolutely incredible. Authentic, genuine old world Italian cuisine. Absolutely the best lasagna I have ever eaten in my life - and I have eaten a lot of lasagna. Wonderful ambience. Exceptional service. My new favorite Italian restaurant.
Food was just so so. Tried the bruschetta it was super thick, tough to cut or bite through. Soup was very good and the entree the current special was ok the main course was a bit over cooked and tough, the pasta was undercooked but the sauce was very good even while cool. Great wine selection, just not acceptable food quality for the price.
