Tacos are pretty good! Do recommend ordering all the salsa’s they have on the menu! Its a nice treat of flavors.
Since they're open till 11:00 it's a great place for late night dining that offers interesting and compelling cocktails, entrees and a collection of salsas you can order to go with anything on the menu including basket of chips. At under 50 cents a piece, order a half dozen and sample to your heart's content. Very friendly service and a pleasant dining experience to end your evening.
A hidden ( to me ) gem in issaquah. We love this place so much that we go every week and tried almost everything on the menu. Margaritas are great. Highly recommend the shrimp cocktail, shrimp tacos and braised chi ken taco salads at this place. Food is great in general but these are my favorites. I also like grilled fish tacos but the last time I got them they were not as tasty as before.
After what is perhaps my 10th visit to El 42 Cantina I am writing this review. El 42's kitchen is one of those unassuming places that surprises you with really good food. From their plantain chips to duck taquitos to chicken tacos. They are so good. I personally judge good Mexican restaurants by whether or not they serve black beans or refried beans with their food. And they serve black beans. I assume they prepare them fresh each day. I highly recommend eating here and getting a few drinks to go your food too.
Was expecting a bar that serves food, but it's really more of a restaurant with a bar. We were just there for some drinks and appsLots of uncleared tables, but when I asked for a table they promptly cleaned one for meDrinks were decent, but expensive. The margaritas were much too salty; I can get behind a salted rim but when I'm at the halfway point with no more salt on the rim, salt should not be the primary flavor. Wasn't just mine either, my friend's was also salty. In my opinion it's totally bogus they make you pay 6 bucks for chips and salsa.Service was pretty slow as well, they seemed like they were a little short staffed when I arrived. . Ended up leaving for faster service and lower prices across the street.
Short wait, well worth it for exquisite Mexican cuisine! Chips come with a green and red salsa, super good! Ordered enchiladas verdes and was so impressed by the flavor. Rice was spicy(yummy ?), beans robust, enchiladas perfect!Environment anything but quiet and intimate, it was rowdy and fun, great vibes for a Saturday night out!
Food is very tasty. Bar staff were very friendly! Drinks are good, especially the sangria and margaritas. The guac is really good too! Burrito was delicious. Can be a bit hard to hear in there, noise can get pretty loud.
Great service. Margaritas are great. Food is good. The best mexican food I’ve had so far in Seattle are. We had the Al pastor and Cochinita Pibil and were very good
Small place made smaller by closing off about 1/3 the seating the night I was there. Good beer selection. Appetizer was the jefe guac, and I admit when I ordered all I read was bacon and cheese on the guac. Arrived and had toasted seeds. And it was fantastic. Also had the El jefe burger and it was delicious. Absolutely recommend this place.
Sat for a drink. Bartenders were kind and knowledgeable. They made a delicious Manhattan. Will definitely be back for food and more drinks.
