I went yesterday with family for lunch. The last time I was here was four years ago and this time was much better. It’s a nice atmosphere lots of natural light and there is an enclosed warmed patio outside. I had the halibut and chips 2-piece. It’s been the best halibut and chips I’ve had in a year or two. Nice beer batter, light fish and tartar sauce was perfect. Our sever Tilly was very nice and did a great job taking care of us.I would recommend visiting if you are in Gig Harbor.
Always a special place to dine with friends, dating back to the early 1970’s for me. On a trip to Gig Harbor this week it was easy to decide we’d have lunch at The Tides. The service was great. We split a sandwich and they brought an additional empty basket and offered to split the check for us. The French dip and fries were delicious. You can’t beat the view on the waterfront.
Stopped in for lunch to celebrate mine and my sister's birthday! We were greeted right away by two friendly wait staff and seated. Enjoyed cold beers and the salmon asiago cheese fries and the spicy chicken sandwich. Delicious!!! Service was fantastic ?
Nice on the water spot! Good sandwich but it was cold. (S'posed to be toasted & hot) Will go back. ?
Great view, a great beer selection, and fantastic fish and chips. My wife loves the gigharborita (sp?). We've been there several times and the staff is fantastic. Great experience all around.
Great fish & chips, yes, but the salmon burger was really very good - try it! Always busy, so expect to wait a bit to get in, but it's well worth it. The view over the harbor is super cool. Love this place. Don't leave Gig Harbor hungry; get down to Tides.
I had the most disappointing meal here. Which may be partially my fault for having some dietary restrictions currently. I ordered a grilled fish taco (gf/dairy free). The dish was so dry and meh which would be moderately fine if it wasn't twenty something bucks. It was a small piece of fish with lots of plain cabbage slaw on a dry AF tortilla. I got the toppings on the side cause they were dairy (which is why this is partially my fault ?). The side was chips and salsa. The chips were delicious. There was a gluten free /dairy free option on the menu. It was a grain bowl of sorts. I'm sure that it is fine and good. The atmosphere was amazing. We sat overlooking the harbor in a tent with a heater and cute fairy lights. Our waitress was lovely. They were very busy and she checked on us to let us know the food would be coming out soon but the kitchen was busy. Mad respect for her!!The inside of the restaurant is super cute and has great artwork and a good atmosphere. The bathroom stalls were TINY. I had to straddle the toilet to open the door. The handicap bathroom is large enough if anyone needed extra space.Despite the short stall the bathroom had THE best view in the house and I took a moment to sit and enjoy the view from the cubby window.
Great location, friendly, prompt service, delicious food. Four of us had a great time at the Tides last night. They have a nice selection of beers - both local and the usual fare. The fish and chips were nicely done, as was the BBQ burger. The shrimp salad was brimming with shrimp, and the vegan quinoa bowl was bursting with flavor (curry) and chock full of veggies, chick peas, kale, and quinoa. We have never been disappointed with meals here, and they don’t rush you through despite being a very popular spot. Right on the water, in the harbor. We’ll be back.
Food was very good, service was bad. We requested to sit outside but we were led to a table in a tent (it would have been nice to be told there were no outside tables before waiting 25 minutes). Server was less than friendly and the attention shown to us left much to be desired.
This place has amazing food!!! You can’t go wrong. Drinks are great too* Enjoy and Stay Blessed~
