Great sushi! Small little restaurant with fresh seafood and a cozy atmosphere. Sushi was definitely fresh and well made. Only thing is that I didn't get a refill of hot tea right away but everything else was great- friendly staff, great food, cozy vibe:)
First time to visit Nami Sushi and was looking forward to it as the reviews appeared favorable. Arrived at 4:30pm and my dinner guest and I were the first to arrive for the dinner hour. Ordered the chicken teriyaki dinner meal and the beef teriyaki dinner meal, both were delicious and so was the rainbow roll, one of my favorite rolls. I asked the waitress to recommend a roll and she recommended the lion king, a baked roll with salmon on top and a creamy filling. The service was excellent at the start of the meal w/ an Asian woman who I believe may have been one of the owners, but plummeted shortly after our designated waitress left. I saw her wave bye to the staff as she left the restaurant. After she left we had no service at all and towards the end of our meal, with no service, had waited for our water to be refilled. I saw the waitress at the table next to us refill the guests’ water and was disappointed to see her walk back towards the kitchen afterwards without even a simple glance in our direction. My glass of Diet Coke was also down to ice several minutes into the meal and I would have wanted a second order but no service person came by to check on us. I had to do the tacky thing of waving my the empty glass in the air at the waitress and she came with the pitcher of water and a smug attitude, not even acknowledging my empty Diet Coke glass or asking if we needed anything. The one thing I can’t stand at any place of service is an employee with attitude. This restaurant prices its selection of dishes more expensively than its neighbors in this area, and with the increase in price (we paid $111.20), we would think service would be at par with the food. I hope the owners and waitstaff will read this review and make improvements to their service. I would have left a $20+ tip had the service been better. Because the food was good and the service was good at the start, I left a $10 tip, which is gracious considering the overall experience was disappointing at best. I believe it was one of the owners, an older Asian gentleman, who came to take away our dirty dishes and give us the bill. No friendliness in his disposition but perhaps he’s all business. The waitress’ recommendation was the least favorite of what was ordered. I don’t think I will visit again.
Hands down the best sushi we have had, possibly ever, but definitely in Washington. Normally when we go out for sushi at other places there is one dominant ingredient or sauce that overrides the other ingredients and flavors. Nami somehow finds a balance so that all the flavors come through on their own and melt together at the same time. The lion king and monkey brains (crab and spicy tuna fried in an avocado) were our favorites
Great food and service! We like super light rice and they deliver! Loved the Citrus Salmon, big bursts of flavor, everything was amazing. Very cool atmosphere too, romantic enough for date night, but casual enough to just meet friends.
From tempura to sushi, sashimi, rolls, just everything is done right in this restaurant. Best Japanese restaurant south of Seattle bar none.I can only name one or two restaurants who have better sushi than this place. Highly recommend
It is such a cute little restaurant. Remind me of diamond in rough since it is located in unexpected location. Interior looks clean and nice. Food tastes great. Beside what we ordered, it also come with miso soup and served hot tea. Miso Soup was served within 15 min while they prepped the food. We ordered Calamari Tempura ($12), Spider Roll ($18/5pc which is on pricy side), Caterpillar Roll ($17/8pc), Cherry Blossom Roll (which is super pretty/$20 {a bit pricy for 8 pcs}), Dragon Roll ($18/8pc), Tempura Udon ($15). I gave 4 stars due to its price. Overall, I am pleased.
I think this may be our new favorite sushi place in the area. Great atmosphere and service, and even more amazing sushi. We had the Viking roll and it was amazing!
Every good place for dining
There were many people, but they were guided to their seats without waiting. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice and the staff were very friendly. The food was also very delicious, and it was even better because I explained the late menu in advance.
The owners were nice and attentive, my server was sweet and the food looked and tasted great.
