This place is the best! It's a classic old school sub shop in all the right ways! Ingredients are limited but always fresh and I love the bread. Haven't been here in years and its just like I remember. The guy that runs it is very nice, 10/10! ?
I feel like most of the positive reviews are for the service and not necessarily the food. For such positive reviews and them being in business so long I was expecting more, but to be honest the sub was on par with something I could have made at home for a fraction of the cost.
Excellent sub, very reasonably priced. Owner is very friendly and funny. Adding another cash only note to make cash a frequently occurring word for other's benefit. Cash only, cash only. Cash only
This place is great - fresh food. Definitely better than chain sub restaurants. The owner is very entertaining with his stories about immigrating to the USA as a young man. He's been at this location for 36+ years.
Love this place. The owner has been there for 35 years. His menu is simple and straightforward. Good stuff.
Have wondered about this sub shop for awhile now. Recently moved down the street from the sub shop and we had to stop by today for a sub! The most simplest creation yet so delicious. Thank you sub shop man! I enjoyed all the history in that shop. He’ll have been there 36 years in a few weeks. He’ll also be open for Memorial Day. Great simple sub!
Note: cash only! We stopped in last weekend during a road trip. The owner Wai Eng is just about the nicest guy I've ever met. The subs were good, and there's a really nice park just a few blocks East of there where you can take your subs if you want to eat outside and have a nice view of the water (Summit Park). As for the sub itself: the bread is a soft french roll, untoasted. If you're not into cold sandwiches, this might not be the place for you. But we ordered "the full boat" and split it (it's HUGE), and it was the perfect kind of sandwich to take on a picnic. We were very happy and would 100% recommend. We'll definitely stop by again during future road trips!
Outstanding subs and the owner is about the friendliest person I have ever met! I came in for the first time today and he greeted me like an old friend, then proceeded to make the best sandwich I have had in a very long time! The full boat is what’s up!
The sub man is a very nice person and he does indeed have wonderful tales of his 36 years in business however his subs are awful! Winco hoagie buns with the thinnest meat toppings and minimul amount of cheese. I was surprised to see my sub came with garden salad as my lettuce, complete with cabbage and carrots.Dude needs a revamp of quality ingredients and a price hike, insane to sell a sub for under $10 unless your ingredients are trash.
