I really thought this place was going to be good for the over priced items it had listed on the menu.I ordered a $16 dollar on a gyro platter and was heavily disappointed. Non of it was even remotely edible, I got scammed for the amount I paid. Everything was soggy and had a bad taste to it. It hardly came with any food and the majority of it was just banana peppers and a couple of cubes of feta. Terrible. I never saw them wear gloves or even wash their hands before they started handling my food. I've worked in the culinary department as a cook and if there's one thing I know is, when to stay away from places like this.
tl;dr - Silverlake's pizza is topped very generously, but the ratios are off and the crust is a real weakness. If you're familiar with Romio's, you'll be pretty familiar with Silverlake. To be sure, there are some differences, but, for the most part, this is an identical pizza to what you would've received at one of the old-school Romio's locations. There were quite a lot of toppings on the pizza I received and their quality was excellent. The cheese portion was similarly generous. Unfortunately, the excellent flavor of the sauce (the best part of this pizza) was completely overwhelmed. Expecting this, I asked for double-sauce and was still disappointed. The pizza's crust, though, is its weak point. It's mostly flavorless and extremely floppy, despite the relatively overcooked nature of the pizza. So even as a vehicle for the cheese and other toppings, it fails. When you pick up a slice (even after letting it cool for awhile) expect the toppings to come cascading off the pie as the tip of the slice collapses. These slices require two hands or a knife and fork.Despite my problems with the pizza, it was priced fairly and was a good value. My $25 bought a lot of pizza and leftovers for a couple of days. The service at the restaurant was quick, professional, and friendly. No complaints at all.BOTTOM LINE: Silverlake is worth a visit if you're close. Otherwise, make a short drive to one of the better pizzerias in the general area.
The food is good, they have great sauce but they don't put enough of it on everything. The meatball parmesan hero is great, I asked for extra sauce, they usually charge me for it. I wasn't fond of the lasagna, it seemed soupy.
Usually we have ordered from one of the chains for delivery. None were delivering last night. Silverlake pizza and pasta was. Read the reviews and decided to give them a try. Glad we did. They have a new customer forever. Ordered two medium pizzas. One pepperoni and one Italian sausage. Pizzas arrived quickly. They smelled delicious before the box was even opened and were really hot. The crust was evenly cooked and had a pan crust flavor. The toppings were everywhere and delicious. Nice to find a local place that makes a great pizza. Thanks for a great first time experience.
Horrible service by this woman who doesn’t like facts. Ordered a pizza and didn’t come with 2 toppings including. I highly recommend going to a different place cause what ever the owner says goes. Money is well spent somewhere where they had beside manor. Whatchour !
I am thoroughly impressed and pleased. I just moved to Silver Lake a few wks ago and have been on the hunt for a new pizza place. Tonight a neighbor suggested SLP&P and I gave it a go. I am very picky about pizza and this place absolutely (and, literally, lol) delivered! And, wait for it...no delivery fee!! Tip and tax. That's it. Whaaa?? Awesome.I requested the zucchini be extra crispy, it was. The pizza is perfection, the crust is amazing, the toppings were spread evenly. And soon, I'll be trying the lemon tort, which I am sure is just freakin' fabulous, so let's just go ahead and say it is also delicious. The delivery person was very sweet and smiley. And my food arrived in under a half an hr, hot. Not warm, hot.Thank you, SLP&P. It is one of those days where comfort food was mandatory, and you took good care of me :) I love you.<3 Your new best friend
I have only been in that place like 2 or 3 times. Never got any pizza or pasta. But, the service and the people are so very nice. I would want to go back again and see them and get some pizza. Hope you guys get some pizza too. ???? Fun Fact: The RedBox is renting out some good movies. You guys and girls can make it a movie night with pizza. ???
I love the BBQ kickin Chicken Pizza. It's really tasty. You should try it.
t's definitely better pizza than ordering from any of the national chains (the quality of the dough, sauce, and cheese), but definitely not as good as some of their local competitors. The Caesar dressing is not great and the marinara is dark, salty, and sweet.
My husband was excited to share this place with me when I wanted pizza tonight. The food was ok , not anything different which made the way he was treated even worse. Where in the world is good customer service!!!! I felt bad for him becouse he was happy going to get the food but came home irritated by the way they acted towards him. Needless to say I would never recommend Silver Lake Pizza and Pasta to anyone!!!! No Bueno Baby
