First impressions are so important, and I can assure you J&L BBQ did not disappoint! The BBQ was perfectly smoked and cooked (juicy, tender, and full of flavor). The sides were equally tasty. Between all of us we tried the beans, coleslaw, collard greens, tater salad, and Mac & cheese. No skimping on the serving and everything was delicious. The cornbread though? With cinnamon butter? Was an absolute game changer?. Apart from the food being delicious, the customer service was AMAZING! The gals that helped us were super sweet and helpful. They both went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of considering it was our first time eating there. We’ll definitely be returning!
Decent brisket and pulled pork for the PNW but super dry pork ribs. To clarify as the owner said below - brisket and pork were a bit on the bland side and not up to par with other bbq spots up here. Also check out other responses from him.Big thing to note is many of their sides (coleslaw, beans, etc) are made using a premade mix as their base (confirmed by the cashier I had when asking about scratch made sides). The two sides I had which were scratch made (corn bread and potato salad) were solid. To make it worse their bbq sauce uses sweet baby rays as a base to it. Pretty easy to identify given the sauce tasted like it had high fructose corn syrup in it and confirmed when I walked by the kitchen on the way to the bathroom.I'm fine with the meats being not as good as spots in the Texas and other parts of the south. However, the use of premade sauce as a base and not all sides being made from scratch takes away from the experience. Far better places in the area for a similar price point.
YUM! We really liked the brisket. Just the right amount of bark and smokiness. And the cowboy caviar was great. The staff was very friendly and the prices are reasonable. We stopped on a whim but we definitely will be back.
It really is one of the best BBQ places in Western Washington. Great food and great service.
Excellent BBQ. We came up to Everett for a concert at the Historical Everett Theater and we were not sure where to eat. J&L BBQ was next door and I had read good reviews onlineWe were greeted by the owner's sister wo had asked if it was our first time in.I don't normally order brisket but she was insistent at giving us a sample. Outstanding, juicy with a nice bark. We ended up splitting two meats and two sides and took a box to go. Well worth stopping back in!
Pretty good barbecue. I had the Tri tip sandwich with collard greens, which was medium-rare and nicely flavorful. The collard greens was also pretty great (be warned, it has pork chunks). They don’t smoke the bbq in house, but they ship it in from the Snohomish location twice a day.
I've only had takeout so far here but will definitely be back! Tried the brisket, so tender, flavorful, and the BBQ sauce on the side was perfect! Mac n' cheese was rich and on point too. Could hardly believe my husband spent under $16, for brisket and two sides and the portions were not tiny. Well worth a visit; highly recommended.
Delicious bbq! Had the brisket, pulled pork, Mac n cheese and cowboy caviar. Everything was top notch. Best bbq I've had in a long time. The meat was tender enough to cut with a plastic fork. Corn bread was dense, sweet and paired perfectly with cinnamon butter. Mac was super cheesy and rich. Loved every bite and will definitely be back soon!
I forgot how good this place is! The ladies are always so sweet and pleasant when we come in. The pork and brisket are always tender, juicy and full of flavor. The collard greens are honestly some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend this place if you love BBQ! ❤️
This place is amazing. Both locations. Absolutely delicious and excellent Italian food. I highly recommend it for any occasion and can't wait to go back again.
