Good ol Ivar's! Dinner for two was a 3 piece cod and a 4 piece cod, 1 cup of chowder and 1 drink . $34.00It's not cheap but in this caseIt was good , cooked fresh and very tasty. The cashier was a young brunette with fancy eyeliner and she is doing an exceptional job of good customer service and even though this may be one of her first jobs , she is already better at it than most. I could see her as a manager in no time at all.
This Ivar's is consistently better and fresher than any of the regular Ivar's Seafood Bars in Seattle (we lived by the Woodland Park Zoo before moving to Everett.) And I go to Ivar's quite a bit.Every time the fish is actually fresh and hot. They mess up my orders sometimes, especially when I doordash, but so does everyone.Definitely recommend this Ivar's over the others nearby
Sanitary and cross contamination practices felt not a priority here due to the busyness of this location. Not sure how I felt about leaving all 3 chowder lids open the whole time I was there —- meanwhile money and workers are passing money and working directly over the soup pots. Also noticed no wearing of gloves on FOH employee andNo mask on BOH cook. Just seems like it would be better to see those practices being met here, especially due to the busy restaurant.Positive mentions- lobby was 10/10 which is great considering how busy they were.Price - a little overpriced for my taste but IThink they have always been that way due to the fresh PNW seafood they serve. ??
I purchased red chowder, cornbread, and polluck sandwich. I do wish the chowder was a bit warmer, but overall not bad.Updated: purchased the same meal and chowder was hot, sandwich on Kings hawaiian bun was great.
I personally am a fan of good fish and chips so I was really looking forward to eating at Ivars - Seattles renowned fish and chips restaurant. Stopped by this place on our way back from Mount Baker. We ordered the original fish and chips & cajun fish and chips. While the cajun fish and chips were great the original ones lacked some seasoning. The fish tasted fresh and melted in the mouth but it defintely lacked some flavors and seasoning. Food is priced reasonably and customer service is great. If i do stop by again I will definitely recommend having their cajun fish and chips.
The place is very clunky, outdated, and run down. Very slow service. Cod and chowder were good, but the fries were tasteless and not crisp. The price was pretty stiff for one piece of fish (each) and self serve. The self serve area was very messy. We had to ask for utensils and salt/pepper. They seem to be very short handed. Not one person made eye contact or thanked us for coming in. We'll probably be back because we love the fish, but wish it were a nicer experience over all.
It was fine. Servers were unorganized and the cook in the back was like a sloth so my food took a little longer then it should have been for a lunch rush
I don't like panko breading on my fish so I would say it was terrible I'd rather have dipped not panko I prefer English style fish and chips
Wasn't greasy, the fish and chips. Served hot. Fish was a little dry, perhaps overcooked. Fries were fresh and hot. All in all, not too bad for a quick fish and chips fix.
