So freaking happy this place is back up and running. The food is always delicious and even though the last few reviews have been negative due to the wait times. I’m a loyal customer forever. They’re adjusting to a new space and we must give a little grace as they smooth things out and settle into a new location. To be able to work hard after a devastating fire is truly amazing. This is a truly a family owned business!!!!
Disappointing service, good foodI went in and stood in the front for an hour. The waitresses acknowledged me but didn’t even come help. After waiting for about 30 minutes, finally someone comes up and asks if I’m on the wait list. There was no apparent wait list and ended up waiting another 30 minutes. After getting seated I ordered the signature wonton noodle soup which was delicious. The fillings were good and soup was flavorful. I enjoyed my meal very much. However, the service was terrible and didn’t even receive my water.
The best Chinese (Cantontese) restaurant in Shoreline/Edmonds area is BACK. Today (June 29th) is their re-opening. If you plan on coming opening week - you’re gonna wait. Perhaps an hour for a seat, perhaps a half hour for your first dish. Set your expectations and plan accordingly. My server skipped lunch to continue to serve patrons… so have some respect too.The food - as good as you remembered. Staples are gonna be their wonton noodle soup and dry beef chow fun. My other personal favorite is fish congee which reminds me of how my parents cooked it. The menu actually seems to be the same menu from the old location, which is great from my perspective. The space - a slightly bigger space, better suited for family gatherings. Much better parking situation in the 99 Ranch plaza too.The service - they are busy, understaffed, and backed up right now. They tell you up front - and it’s opening day. They are also dealing with new tech, ordering via iPads. I don’t anticipate this is going to continue.
Went in to get food with my parents and only me and my mom got ours and my dad had to wait for his but had to cancel and ended up eating package ramen when he got home. It was disappointing as a loyal customer for 10 years at least now returning back to support a local business and get terrible treatment and experience. The waitress did tell us in advance that it was going to be a 40 minute wait on food because we knew her previously when we used to eat there before and we agreed because why not. They also told us they were out of congee since they were busy this morning. We were accepting because it was a grand opening day but people who came in after us got seated and only had to wait 5 mins for their dishes to come out and the waitress were out of order. A lot of people who came in after got their food while people who have been waiting for an hour or more didn’t get theirs. Terrible service and we will never come back to support this small business again after so many years of supporting them. It’s 2022 they need to do better. If they weren’t ready, they shouldn’t have rushed the reopening after a year, they could’ve waited longer. It may sounds harsh but that’s how business is. There were a lot of elderly people too and it breaks my heart to see them go out empty ended. All they can say is sorry but won’t do anything for you. Please learn your lesson and don’t go to places on the day of grand openings. We thought that since it was a weekday it would be some what empty since my mom wanted to go on Friday but I decided today instead so there wouldn’t be as many people. My poor dad came home from work and went to the restaurant to come out empty ended and eating packaged ramen because we were excited to eat at this place after a year it has opened but left empty ended with an empty sorry.
Poor value, below average taste. CP Foods authentic Asia brand frozen wonton soup from 99 Ranch next door is better.Comparing to what I'm used to in Hong Kong, the taste is below average. I think the real problem though is the poor value. The Togo version of wonton noodle soup needs at least double the amount of soup they give you. What is the point of giving so much noodle if there's at least 3 times less soup than needed. Also, 3 wontons that are almost all ground pork? Where's the shrimp. And why cheap out even on green onions, it's essential for an authentic wonton noodle soup.
This place is Soul Food. One of the few authentic places in town. Hope they reopen soon!!
This place offers amazing authentic southern chinese food. The fried rice had good wok hey, the noodle soup tasted fresh, the fried man tou were very crispy. Really cant go wrong with anything on their menu. Unfortunately a fire broke out next door a couple months back. I really hope they reopen and come back stronger! Will definitely miss this place if they close permanently.
It's definitely good I just am not a huge fan of their style of noodles I love wonton noodles but it needs a little more of a bite for me I guess.
Living in North Seattle, we have been very frustrated by the lack of even decent Chinese food. It's a desert, ok? Coming from the SF Bay Area, we were used to much better. So Saturday when we were in the Shoreline area we made our second visit the Wonton Noodle House, this time getting takeout. It was soul-satisfying comfort from first bite to last. I stuffed myself. And prices are reasonable - we got 3 servings for a little over $40.One recommendation: waiting for takeout took a long time (the restaurant was packed) so next time I will order ahead and arrive closer to when it should be ready.
The food is ok, but they could do more cleaning on the tables. Sometimes the tables get a bit sticky. Some of the staff there can be rude, but other than those two problems, its quite good.
