I find it very hard for me to find pros about this place. The only thing I will say is the chicken has good taste, even though it was dry. I visited last Wednesday at around 9 PM. What I was extremely disappointed in was the misinformation regarding their food prices. They gave us a regular menu which we all ordered from and had a certain expectation on what we were going to pay, however when the bill came it was much higher than we expected. Some items were almost double what the menu said. We brought this up to the waitress and she stated it was due to the night prices taking effect at around 7 pm (she couldn't tell us for certain). We all would've appreciated a heads up from her regarding the prices, or maybe if she had given us a night time menu with the night prices but we got nothing, nor did we see anywhere that there was a night time price change (I know this may not be her fault for which we didn't blame or "punish" her so we still left tips). This was however extremely misleading for which I find it very difficult for me to give this place more than a 2 star rating. As for me and my family, we won't be visiting this place again.
So good! We read through lots of reviews. Super mixed, but we have been driving by for a long time and furious. So we went anyway. Casual inside. There was us, a mother and daughter, a family, and a couple groups of guys. Sport screens, music that made me want to dance. Not overly loud, but the waitress was soft spoken. Kind, but soft spoken . The lady with her daughter recommended the jalea. Think Captain's platter, but with a foot long fish, buttery, delicious. Fried stuff on the outside was more fied chicken style than greasy fish and chips. Shrimp, scallops, octopus, mussel, clam, calamari, white corn, sauteed red onions, , tomato, lettuce, yucca fries. Enough food for two. Rich, flavorful. As someone who doesn't like tarter sauce, I used the salso. Oh yes! Great with chips- even better with the fish and seafood. Not your ordinary salsa. Yum! I could not identify the ingredients. Tomato? Bean? Tamarind? Spices unique and tasty. 21 for so much seafood My husband got the pan huelo? Think soup with a whole crab leg, octopus, scallops, shrimp, squid mussel, clam, fish, calamari. All in an orange sauce reminiscent of pumpkin and white sauce with tasty spices. Add the onion, cilantro, and lime. We didn't add the rice, Tasty rice, e licioys soup, though rich, so my husband at only 1/2 to 3/4, then "helped" me horchatta- less sweet than most. Yay! Flan we have not tried yet because we are still full. Lots of leftovers. Looking forward to eating them. Nice people. We will be back!
Great barbique chicken!Reminded me of camping and cooking chicken on the campfire. The new interior of the restaurant looks great too.
I was there last Sunday, server was amicable, but the food took forever and wh when it finally arrived was not so good. My buddy ordered la Carne aside and it was OK and I ordered El mendoza and it was terrible, I don't think the tripe and beef stomach was cleaned up properly cos it was slimy and half an hour after gave me the runs
This is not Peruvian food!!! Had the pollo saltado & they served it w noodles. The papa la huancaina was awful. Maybe they have good Mexican food. But they should take the Peruvian out the name. The fries were pretty good tho.
My supreme nacho was huge, delicious, and inexpensive! Service was very slow, though, and the background music was terribly loud.
Excellent in every way. Clean; lovely decore; best salsa I have had in years; large portions with authentic ingredients; exceptional service; reasonably priced; wonderful and traditional music. Will return again and again.
Good food, grilled chicken is amazing. Nice staff..
This is my first time posting a review. But this was the worst experience I have ever had. When we sat down no one was there but me and my family. It took the waitress about 10 minutes to come and ask us for our order. When we got the food we sent it back twice and it was still bad tasting. The corn was frozen the food was salty. And we still got charged for something we sent back and had never eaten. I will never go. back to El Pique again.
Food was great but there was no "manager" there to "override" our bill when we were charged for one extra margarita and an order of guacamole that could not be made because the avocados were not ripe. That's a $20 overcharge. The waitress was nice and tried to give me cookies to make up for it but we paid for an extra drink $13 and guacamole $5 and of course tax because she couldn't override the charges. Not sure if this is how they make extra money but beware! If there is nobody there to "override " the charges then give your employees a way to do it themselves. I really feel cheated. I thought about leaving no tip to cover it but did not feel right about that. Anyway the food was good but I won't be going back. Oh and there was no way to pay less with a credit card because they are the little machines that come to the table . ? not ok!!
