We had this dining experience inside, at a window table looking out to the patio dining. One star for the ambience, which is nice. The rest? The maitre d seemed to think his sole responsibility was walking around at a snails pace, carrying something. He led us (after two false starts) to a nearly empty section and left us.After about seven minutes, we stopped him as he was passing by carrying a napkin, and asked if there was wait staff assigned to the table. About five minutes later, a bus boy brought our water and flatware. After another wait, just as we were starting to get up to leave, a bored looking waitress walked up.I asked how the Avocado Toast was presented, she described the toast placed on the plate, and was covered by the arugula, then the guacamole, followed by the tomatoes, mashed down and topped with the poached eggs. Not wanting soggy toast, I asked that the toast be "on the side" and the rest of it placed on the plate, rather than on the toast.Another waiter brought the order out. There was a plate for the toast, and a plate for the other ingredients, without eggs. I didn't realize it right away, until my husband asked about my eggs. I went and found the waiter, inquired, and returned to the table. A few minutes later he came to the table and told me that the eggs had gone to another order, but another batch would be out in "just a second."Several minutes later, having time to nearly finish the meal, with only a few arugula and 1 1/2 pieces of toast left, the eggs arrived swimming in water, and cold. This was the second bad experience with this place. The time before we walked out, having never gotten served. This was a trial to see if that was the norm, or that was just a bad day. Apparently not, or they have a lot of bad days.
Update:Came back with a friend to their main restaurant, which is across the street from Lagoon and had a wonderful time. The service was still on a slower end, however the food was excellent and the server was very nice and professional. The atmosphere was amazing. Sitting by a fireplace on a comfy couch was a cherry on top :) Will be back!
New menu, and really sloooow service tonight (Wed night). Not sure if they are short staffed but the drinks are great, no food has arrived yet.
The food here is amazing. I guess you might call it Asian fusion type fare. The place is small and a bit cramped and it doesn't have the best area to sit out you're on the waiting list and it can be a bit cramped inside. However, the atmosphere (the decor is pretty cool!) and the food more than make-up for the negatives.
I went here for lunch w my gay bestie I got horrible service waitress said gay slurs horrible food the beer taste like the 90s. I left no tip they Dont like Gays fyi I was walking my dog leaving they called the cops after I paid my bill no tip Never go here Ever its Old ghetto drinks and food disgusting. This lagoon place has a swimming pool and restaurant on the second floor. For Bothell residents the pool is free. We take kids to the pool at spring and fall time and it is very crowded during evening sessions. The hotel also offers group classes once a week. Our kids love them!
Very unique maitai in a great setting above the pool. Never had a maitai with almond taste before, lots of lime taste, unusual but really nice. Good happy hour. Great break from PNW weather!
The kiddie colada here is perfect refreshing drink irrespective of the season. Poke and fried rice were tasty. Pretty cool vibe both indoors and by the pool
Made a reservation for Valentine's dinner date with my wife.Got there, couple ahead of us was turned away, presumably because the wait was too long or they did not have a reservation. We came in, said we had a reservation, and were escorted to a sort of closeted table overlooking the pool. I had asked for some privacy, so this seemed like a good sign, even if the table was only about shin high. As we sat, though, my wife mentioned that the people she passed on the way in looked angry. An hour later, we had no entrees, no appetizers, no desserts. I was sure we'd been forgotten entirely. When we did get the waitress's attention, she could only tell us our orders would be out, "Soon." Without a number of minutes provided, I don't think those orders had been started. I would have just left, but my wife insisted we stay to pay for the drinks, until the waitress told us not to worry about those. On the way out, I noticed every face in the place was the same color except for my wife's. I can't say for sure that had anything to do with the poor service or the angry faces on the way in, but it's not a great sign.
Great food overlooking the swimming pool from the Lono room.
