The'e BEST Vegan restaurant & food truck EVER! My husband comes from a family who hunts and is a meat connoisseur. He chuckles every time I tell him, "one day you'll convert to being vegan." Sage Against the Machine has definitely proved he could. My 8-year-old when he was younger said, "this is my favorite hotdog," over any hotdog he's ever had and has never known they were vegan; he's had their version of carrot dog and the Frankfurt's they serve now. We as a family live in Lynnwood, WA closer to Seattle and will drive almost 2 hours to visit Nate and Tara for our vegan meal. It is a huge treat for us because not only are we served the best vegan meals, but the service we experience is one of a kind. We were blessed to have met this couple when they were serving from their food truck, and we soak in their success in opening their restaurant, where they too have a mini market-like isle you can grab groceries to take home with you. Going back to my husband, the meat connoisseur, who literally chowed down a whole meal in the restaurant, bought 7 other meals to take home, purchased clothing, and groceries to take home, should say how much Sage Against the Machine's meals, products, and service excellence is. We absolutely take pleasure in every bite of food you serve, and we are super proud of your success. Your team deserves the best. And we are excited to see your growth! In photo are some of the meals ordered. Who the ef' says vegan food is boring & plain? You must have not been to Sage Against the Machine! If you are not Vegan and you are venturing for something new, trust when I say eating here, you would not be dissapointed, you wouldn't even know it was vegan! You don't have to be vegan to eat vegan food. Especially if you can't taste the difference; the only greatest difference is the wholesome healthiness you provide your mind & body.
Went to enjoy a Bells game and stopped in at the Sage Against the Machines food truck. Nate and Tara are so incredibly amazing and have you walking away with a big ol smile on your face. These nachos were a MUST have at the ball game! Couldn’t get enough of all that yummy flavor!
This is the best vegan food I’ve ever had. Everything is seasoned, cooked and plated with love and it really shows after your first bite. Nate (the owner) was incredible. Such a nice guy. If you’re not a vegan (like myself) there is still plenty of familiar food options that are absolutely fire! Will definitely be stopping here each time we come through Bellingham ??
Have come here two days in a row and want to keep the streak going. Big, awesome comfort menu that'll take me weeks to get through! Yesterday was the patty melt, today was chili mac. I'm so excited. So much so that I forgot to take pics. ? Do some quick plant-based grocery shopping while you wait for your order. (They're pretty fast!) I also saw some flour for sale from a local mill (Fairhaven). Stoked about getting my sourdough on with it.
Sage has the best food in town hands down. The service is out of this word and the atmosphere they have created is so welcoming. There isn’t a bad choice on the menu, so much so I don’t have a favorite. It’s good food that truly makes you want to groove !
Awesome vegan comfort food in a comfy cafe setting with amazing service. The love put into this place really shows. They also support local artists and sanctuaries, and they even have a vegan grocery section to pick up some essentials, candy, fancy cheeze, and/or gifts.
Went there for a quick bite to take back to my hotel. So many choices it was hard to pick one! They even have several gluten free options! Ended up with 2 sandwiches and they are so good!!! Definitely will be back! Pictured is the Buffalo wrap on a gluten free wrap!
Our new favorite Bham restaurant. It can be a challenge to fine consistently tasty vegan care but not at Safe Against the Machine.Tons of options and it's all great. Nice little store as well.We love this spot!
The food is great but the wait is unbelievable. People came and went without placing an order while the one person working slowly checked out a customer with groceries. Nobody acknowledged the people waiting to order, just kept walking past. I know a lot of business was missed in the half hour waiting for my Mac and cheese from lack of staff. Also their grocery items are even more expensive than Whole Foods somehow.
This is the restaurant of my dreams Came here with a friend while we were in town and we loved it so much we came back the next day. Everyone is SO friendly and accommodating, you can tell they really care. And the food is so good we were practically licking our plates. (I loved the pita and the teriyaki sandwich.) And there were even vegan groceries (many from small/local businesses) for sale in the front! We left with an armload. I'm telling everyone I know about this little gem, it could not have been a better experience. Thank you so much ✨
