Update: Decided to give it a try again.Sometimes people have bad days and those moments have nothing bro do with us. Forgiveness is everything and we this world needs more of it.—————————————————————-I’m a regular early morning customer. The food is amazing, and I’ve never had an issue with long waits for a table or food. For the most part the staff are friendly and efficient; some complain about the music, but I find it nostalgic and pleasant.My last visit was disheartening. A staff member completely snapped at me while taking my drink order; I expressed I would be ok to also order my food if it made things easier. It was busy, and I didn’t want her to make unnecessary returns to my table - I thought I was being empathetic, accommodating and kind. Her response was snarky and condescending , “Mmmmhmmm okaaaaaaaay (with an eye roll). When I get a chance. I’m obviously alone this morning. Wait your turn.” :-/ When she returned to take my order she said, “I’m just piping off this morning.” I get it, we’re all under a lot of pressure these days, but that’s not a free pass to berate others.The Little Cheerful is part of a meditative morning routine; I workout nearby, sometimes I go for a walk , then follow up with breakfast at the cafe. I’m never in a rush, I’m kind and friendly, and I always leave a 25% tip.I like hot sauce with my meal, but the attitude and blatant disrespectfulness is not the kind of spice I want with my breakfast. I know gems have blemishes, but this experience was a hard swallow. I’m not sure I’ll return.
New favorite breakfast place. They made everything exactly as I like it and as a picky eater sometimes that's rare. I got pancakes and they made them with chocolate chips like I love and gave me whip cream. The decor is also super funky and the staff looked like they actually love their job. They had great energy and made it a funny and great experience!
Food was excellent and plentiful! The kitchen situation was kind of noisy. Definitely not a place for sitting down and having a chat. I would recommend it for a great PNW, hearty meal.
If I could give the cafe 10 stars I would! Service was exceptional, the quality of the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Their r-rated pancake made my day! Definitely coming back here :)
New favorite breakfast place in Bellingham. Carl is a great server with knowledge of what's going on. Food? Couldn't ask for better portions and flavor. Atmosphere/decor is beautiful. Highly recommend to try this place.
I order the steak and hashbrowns and everything was perfect. The hashbrowns were flavorful and added to the plate instead of filling the plate. The steak was tender, the vegetables nicely colored and seasoned. I could not find a single thing wrong with the plate. Everything to a reasonable price and fast ticket time. Excellent service!!
Super yummy food and fantastic esthetic. It is my partner’s favorite Bellingham breakfast and I can’t find any reason to disagree. From the friendly staff to the quick coffee refills, it is worth the wait on a busy morning. And I have absolutely have never left wanting more, the portions are huge!
What can be said about Little Cheerful that hasn't been said already? Love the people who work in this odd little corner diner, and what they do to their food is borderline black magic when it comes to how good their spins on simple grease pit staples are. The day is always a little brighter after I come here for breakfast or lunch, and I think your day will be brighter too.
Wonderful atmosphere, attentive waitstaff, over the top delicious food. Coffee is great and your cup is always being filled. It's a Bellingham institution.
I got the biscuits and gravy, so yummy I scraped my plate completely clean! The hash browns were crispy to my likings plus the poached eggs were cooked perfectly! The service was very good plus the food was done in a quick manner without losing quality! A must visit in Bellingham!
