Creative, delicious. Recommend at least 5-6 small plates for four.
I've had dinner at Carnal approximately 5 times since they opened about 3 years ago. Every dining experience has been exceptional. Their food in very innovative, and challenging to prepare well. Live fire cooking is very dynamic and a fine art. They nail it. I can't recommend them highly enough. We enjoy their outdoor dining area, and find it a wonderful environment for a restaurant.
His was our first time at Carnal. The menu is not extensive, but it seems that is because they are focusing on quality. Delicious mix of flavors and great shareable smaller bites. We really enjoyed everything, with standouts being the avocado appetizer, the salmon appetizer and the roasted carrots that we with the very tender skirt steak. We will definitely come back to try the other items on the menu.
Once I found the restaurant sign after driving past it once⦠all was good. The chicken wings were just the way I like them ⦠crunchy and delicious and the mushroom side, seasoned and extremely yummy â¦..my veggie dish came out way after I ate my meal⦠thatâs why I gave 4 stars and the fact my friendâs pasta was a little on the bland side. But the service and the ambiance was lively and lovely. I enjoyed myself.. thank you!
We picked Carnal for our anniversary dinner. We enjoyed it all! Plus the staff and servers are very nice and helpful. Weâll go again next time we are in Bellingham.

Date nights are rare for us. Carnal did not disappoint! So accommodating and friendly, from the hostess to our server and everyone in between. Everyone was so friendly. Food and drinks were scrumptious. We canât wait to go back!
