We were going through all the Chinese restaurants in the Seattle area and many times giving the comparative award to Richmond or Vancouver (but mostly the former), but then Friday night we tried out King's Chinese Restaurant (also called "Royal Kitchen" on its cards). This was very good fare. We had an unknown fish of 2.5 pounds (bringing most of it home); it was cooked to perfection and set off as it should have been by the scallions and touch of ginger. Sweet and sour pork even had my wife saying good things, which she hardly ever does of Chinese restaurants on this side of the Pacific. At the beginning of the meal we had a small dish of jellyfish. This is one of those Cantonese and Hong Kong appetizers which, if you give it to a Westerner, they say it's fine, until you tell them what it is. So I suggest you order it, then forget what it is, and I guarantee you'll be pleased. Also, notice the tinge of sesame oil on the topping? Underneath are some bits of pickled radish, also good. Finally, and the least impressive dish, but also okay, we had scallops and broccoli. The broccoli didn't have that much taste, but this was still fine. We'll be back here for sure. Owing to the fish, it was about $180 for two. Photos coming later.

After ordering off the menu on a Saturday afternoon, realized we could have ordered dim sum. That seems to be what they are known for as many came in to pick up “to go” orders. The restaurant name is to change to “Royal Kitchen” but still signs indicate King’s Cafe. We ordered an assortment of items. Favorites were hot and sour soup, hong kong chow mein, BBQ pork and beef with turnips hot pot.

Just received my order of almond chicken and beef chow fun through grub hub. Both dish looked good, portions were generous, and was looking forward to trying them. Note: the almond chicken is not your typical almond chicken. First bite was disappointing for both dishes. They were both lacking flavor and seasoning of any kind. The standout part of the chow fun were the bean sprouts. This has to be one of the blandest things I've ever tried.

Good cantonese style restaurant. I had craving for century egg salted pork congee and they hit the spot. Dim sum (had the chicken feet, shrimp dumplings, spring rolls) was great too, 2 of the 3 could be warmer but I was driving 15 min with it so makes sense.

Came here for dinner on a weekday, no waiting line and decent seating ratio. The food service is fast and tastes okay. The pork and fish fillet pot was quite flavorful, and large portion. There is still dinner dim sum menu offering, so I had the 豉汁凤爪, its texture is alright, but a bit flavorless than what I expect.

I had an excellent experience here. Very authentic Cantonese food! Would definitely come again!

This place has changed considerably. Perhaps the ownership has changed or their kitchen staff swapped out..We used to come here and the food was quite good, but now it is overpriced (compared to other Cantonese style food) in the Bellevue area, and piss poor of an excuse for second-hand Cantonese food. The Chow mein noodles were soggy (not crispy) and felt like they were reheated leftovers. The chow-fun was overly greasy and soggy. The mapo tofu tasted like they cooked it in some instant noodle mix with ginger powder. The fried rice tasted like the rice was overcooked or repurposed from congee (not bouncy or dry in texture). I am not a Chinese-food (Cantonese) connoiseur, but this is one of the worst I've had in the area. You may fair better at Panda Express for value and taste. SOrry...

Wanted to like this place but food and service just isn’t good. Ordered dim sum and most dishes were cold or room temp. When I brought up to the waiter he took back the dish and microwaved it. It came back hard and unchewable. The fried items were the only ones cooked per order. Don’t think it is worth a second try and wont be back

My family's favorite restaurant for at least a decade. Good food, come out fast as they have many cooks working. They can get pretty busy even after peak hours. The wait on major holidays is sometimes not worth it due to the super long lines. Once you're seated though, it's all a smooth sail from there. The portion is large, we always have extra for to go. They have a good selection of vegetarian dishes.

I heard that King's changed ownership to the Jade Garden people, so I wanted to give it another chance after the last time, three years ago, when waitresses would chase down customers for more tips beyond the standard 20%.I was at Jade Garden and mentioned to the manager that I hope they improved the customer service from the previous owner of King's now that they own it. Jade's manager then tells me that Jade Garden is, in fact, NOT AFFILIATED WITH KING'S WHATSOEVER.The owner of King's apparently used to work for Jade Garden and went off to do their own thing. Then they started using Jade Garden's name to attract customers with the promise of the same level of quality in food and service one would expect at Jade Garden. This is a dirty move, but I guess I'm not surprised that King's would resort to such tactics in order to recover their public opinion. Even with new ownership, they're not confident enough in their own food and customer service to redeem themselves through merit alone.
