We enjoyed the meal & experience of cooking the meat & veggies ourselves. The food has been delicious every visit. On all 3 of my visits, thereâs been a good amount of people waiting to be seated. Thankfully our reservation time was honored. We arrived 15 min earlier, but they were on schedule for no earlier than our 8:15 reservation. This restaurant always seems to be very busy! I would suggest that they change the volume of their phone ringer, because that was annoying to hear throughout our time there. If you donât mind a loud & busy atmosphere, this is a great place to eat.

Before you go to Gyu Kaku, upload their app and sign up for rewards program. First giving you 100 points for sign-up. You can get additional 50 points by their FB sign-up. Also $10 off when you spend $30. I'm highly recommend you to earn rewards point to redeem many choices of meals.We had a reservation on Sat 5:15pm for 3. We arrived at the restaurant 15 mins earlier, but immediately took a seat. We ordered course for 4 people instead of 3. This course includes 4x miso soup, spicy Tuna voccano,Gyu-sushi 4pcs, Gyu-kaku salad, Napa Kimchee, edamame, Japanese chicken Karaage, chicken garlic noodles, bistro hunger stake, yaki shabu beef, filet mignon, karubi chunk rib, New York stake, premium sirloin, umakara ribeye, umakara pork, chicken brest, shrimp garlic...etc. They will tell you how many seconds to grill the meat.There were too many items to put on the table. I was busy grilling the meat and served. Meat began to sticked the grill and making it difficult to cook. The marinated meat was scorched and bitter and could not be eaten.The three sauces on the table felt thin and unsatisfactory for us.However, Gyu Kaku is popular Japanese BBQ place. I will be back here to try something else next time.
Gyu-Kaku is a really fun dining experience. If you’re looking for both a fun dining and social experience — I definitely recommend coming here.All the ingredients (yes including the vegetables) taste amazing. I went with one other friend and we both agreed that the Chef’s Choice (for 2) served the perfect amount of food that left us feeling not too overly full!The only reason why I’m taking one star off is due to how long it took for the staff to take our order after being seated (~20 mins+). It happens though as the restaurant was full and busy, and there’s only so many employees. I still would come again!
We have been coming here for years and first time going again during Covid. We had lunch special during weekday and food is still good. Set lunch came with soup, rice, salad and meat.
Server was very energetic and "on", so much so one in our group asked 'is he high?'Delivery of multiple dishes were brought out rapid fire by busboy with only a brief mention of what they were... became a bit of a running joke at the table: is that the chicken?. When we finally got the servers attention to ask about one plate of mystery meat, his mask muffled the quick and terse response which was ' it's hard to telll', so we were left in doubt. No offer to cook anything but he did say '45 seconds cook' and he did change the grill frequently. Completely forgot the extra order of Chicken Katsu and when brought to his attention just saud 'oh'. No sorry or any attempt to make right. If you don't mind feeling rushed and having above average noise its OK...
i noticed the portion had shrunk significantly compared to a few months ago. as for the quality of food, I wished they cooked rice a little bit better because each grain has uncooked center and taste awful. But this place is the only place around here so I think I will keep going.

You will leave full and satisfied with any of the combination sets for 2-4 people. The sauces here are one of the best I've come across in WA as well.
The service was fantastic. There were different servers with different functions and we never wanted for anything. The food was very tasty and high quality. My only complaint is that we ordered a meat lovers combo with many types of meat. They all came at once and we couldn't remember which was which. They should find a way to label them! The servers did tell us when they delivered them but I think there were 8 different meats or more! Too much to process. The salad and soup were also excellent. Nice place for a leisurely meal!
Food was great, staff was nice, the 2 tables next to us were very loud and we could barely hear anything in the restaurant.
