Used to be the absolute best Teriyaki in Auburn but since new ownership taste of many dishes has changed. The regular teriyaki dishes and fried rice are fine but other dishes not even close to as good as they were. Dishes like Almond Chicken and Curry Chicken are way too salty now. Could not even finish the meal. Very sad because this used to be our go to for so many years but now we don’t order as much and stay away from certain dishes. Decided to give it a few more shots but it’s just disappointing. Not sure why the recipes had to change so much but miss the original.
THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! It's all a facade and it's all fake!! Rude service! Overpricing low quality meats!! That I might add that is cooked inappropriately! It's just made to look good everything is made to look good but really it's not!! Especially for the pricing of everything!! Bad customer service!!! They are not genuine business owners!!!
This teriyaki restaurant used to be exceptional and was a weekly favorite, but they are now under new ownership. They reduced their lunch hours, raised prices considerably, and seemingly let go of their friendliest staff members. They used to include a cup of sauce with the meal. Then they required that guests ask for it. Now they charge. That's right; A TERIYAKI RESTAURANT CHARGES CUSTOMERS FOR TERIYAKI SAUCE!This last visit, the tables were sticky, the floors filthy and covered in grime, and the staff weren't particularly friendly.I am very sad and disappointed that this once-great establishment has fallen so far.
So this is an update to my previous review. I am sadly extremely disappointed in the way this restaurant is being ran these days. You somewhat get the same vibe as it used to have, but it’s very different now. The staff is pleasant enough but the food has definitely changed from what it used to be. Also, it’s gotten much more expensive and the quality isn’t even close to what it once was. I would hope they’d treat these reviews as advice on how to operate and make this restaurant the former great teriyaki restaurant the former owners had turned it into. The most disappointing part of their change is they don’t even include the small cup of teriyaki sauce you used to receive with every take out order of teriyaki chicken. No fork either! Wth!!! Come on Sunny Teriyaki, get it together and get better instead of thinking like every other has been business that’s looking for profits instead of quality! The profits will definitely come if the quality deserves it.
Update: my third visit recently. Never disappointed....I recently discovered this teriyaki restaurant. I love this place. I wanted grilled chicken with no salt or sauce mixed in and they made it according to how I wanted it. They also steamed fresh broccoli & cabbage for me. Very healthy. I will come here at least once a week now that I know they make the food according to how you would like it to be made
BE SURE TO LOOK AT NEWEST REVIEWS.....Soooooo Disappointed! Would give 0 Zero Stars if could.I ordered Beef Broccoli & Teriyaki Chkn Combo. And Large Egg Flour Soup (only size option, $9.99) No flavor to ANYthing. No Teriyaki Sauce on Chkn at all + ordered an Xtra side of sauce. They only gave me 1Tsp of teriyaki sauce on side TOTAL. Everything bland. Will never go to or order from here again. Of course, was already overpriced!! Definitely not worth $5, let alone $50!!! ☹️?☹️Also, Beef had strange smell like rotten too. Won't dare eat!
Super good and fast service. No compliants
Never a bad experience. I recommended it to my work, everyone there loves it too.
TOO EXPENSIVE, SMALLER PORTIONS, OVERRATED & OVERPRICED!!This place will hurt your wallet. What happen to the days when we could afford chicken teriyaki for $6.99? Seems like ALL the teriyaki places keep increasing their prices every month misleading us with smaller portions! If you want a meal that will hurt your wallet, and still feel hungry after leaving, then come here!! Now they increased that chicken teriyaki price to $9.99+ even during this Covid 19 pandemic! And so many people starving and out of work! Not even a cheaper weekly (lunch special) is on the menu anymore. The chicken and rice is DRY, no table service, owner is greedy and rude expecting you to leave a tip on top of the $10 you paid. This place is going to make you broke for the young, elderly or poor unless you have a rich pocket or drive a Mercedes-Benz! What will be next, a $15 chicken tariyaki meal in the next 3 years? You shouldn't have to pay $10 for just rice, chicken and iceberg lettuce!
Bought the Teriyaki chicken and Mongolian beef combo with extra beef. It was extremely delicious and beef was tender! Order arrived SO QUICKLY!!.The chicken was delicious as well!I HIGHLY reccomend this place!!! Best Mongolian beef EVER!!! And I've tried it at least 15 different restaurants!
