Wonderful food, great service. Amazing views. Good value. We tried calamari which are served with dried veggies and citrus. The sauce is excellent
First off, the food is delicious. It’s on the more expensive side but everything is now days. Restaurant next to the beach with outdoor seating. Bar menu is nice and the cocktails are good as well. Service has been great every time I’ve been. Bathrooms are well kept also. Highly recommend a reservation on the weekends of summer or anytime the kids are out of school. But off peak time it’s a easy choice to get great food. Definitely recommend.
We enjoyed the Water Street Grille and would eat here again if we are ever in Yorktown. The view of the water was great, but the food was amazing! We had she crab soup, something we had been wanting to try since we are new here. We also had the crab dip, ahi tuna sandwich, mediterranean salad, and cobble. Everything is recommended. The waitress was from the area and very attentive. Would recommend eating here.
We were two couples and gladly waited the forty minutes for a table. We enjoyed a round of cocktails at the bar while waiting. Great bartender with some personality. We were seated outside with a great view of the water. Waitress was friendly, informative and interactive. We ordered a bizarre combination of appetizers and entrees. We told the waitress how we wanted to come out and they did as requested. Cocktails continued throughout lunch. A great time was had by all. I really enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Nachos and She Crab Soup. Amidst the busy River Walk so parking can be a challenge at times.
Great spot for a relaxing lunch by the river. It was fairly crowded for a Monday i though, just shows they are doing good things in my mind! Sat at the bar so we didn’t have to wait for a table. They had a good selection of beers and we tried a 5 beer “flight”. The Caesar salad looked awesome, but I’m not a fan of having to cut and mix my own romaine lettuce head. The crab cake appetizer was great, a little small but hey, I did say the appetizer. The Freaky Greek pizza was awesome! In all a solid 4 star lunch spot, will return for a dinner stop to try some of their awesome looking entree options!
I saw this restaurant online. I thought it would be a good place for my anniversary outing. It looks different in person( there was a bar in the middle). We first ordered fried zucchini appetizer. The batter they used didn't stick to the zucchini and it needed more salt. Next we ordered potato soup. I think they used mashed potatoes because of the texture plus it needed more seasoning. I bought a side of potato hash( it sounded good). It was cubes of frozen potatoes and onions. They said the difference between hash and fried potatoes was the hash seasoning. I tried it but didn't eat it. It cost $7. The last thing we got were the meatball appetizer. That was very good. They forgot the bread but when they brought it it was so good. It was parm focaccia.
Good food, great service & nice view of the water. Just coming back from Yorktown Battlefield for lunch. We stopped in on a Monday.
Some of the food here is really good. There is not much of a selection of seafood, but the fried fish is delicious. The other food ordered was hit and miss. I was disappointed with the staff though. The hostess never smiled and was surly. The server was somewhat friendly at first, but We met with friends we haven’t seen in over 2 years due to the US/Canadian border being closed. We ordered an appetizer and we were delayed choosing our mains (catching up, sharing wine and laughs). The second time the server came to us (once when she brought the appetizer and then 5 min later) we said we would call her when we were ready to order. After 10 minutes, once we were ready, we called her over. No smile, no friendliness at all. When she brought our food, the same attitude was there. We were there for 1.5 hours and during that time I did not see one server smile. (I was also keeping an eye on the occupancy so that we weren’t taking away other business because I do understand that restaurants make more depending on traffic.) Again, we were there for 1.5 hours, had an appetizer, a bottle of wine, and 4 mains. I have been in restaurants longer than this and have never been made to feel uncomfortable. I was here! Virginia hospitality missed this place by a country mile! So, long story short, if you want the fish and chips or the fried fish, by all means stop, but don’t expect much in the way of hospitality.
Delicious food , great service, plus amazing atmosphere and view. Don’t miss the Water Street Grill when you visit Yorktown! You will be happy that you stopped in.
Sorry we wasted our money and time there. Stopped in on a Monday afternoon. The service was extremely slow. Our waitress was nice, but that is the only positive I can give this place. Way over priced, and the food is mediocre at best. Mediocre is being kind.
