Wow, the value you get here is really bad! Prices are high and the food servings are low. We literally laughed when we received our food and couldn't believe that the plate we got was $15. No drink by the way.The fact that they charge $2 extra for yucca on a combo meal that supposed to "include" two sides is taking advantage to say the least. Also, if you look at my picture, they gave only FIVE pieces of yucca for the extra $2 you pay for the combo, five. Sad.On top of that they forgot my side of yucca and was told that they were going to bring it me soon, but never did. Had to request a refund for the yucca I didn't receive. Also, like other reviewers have mentioned, the sauce control is strict here. Guapo's, it's just sauce. This used to be an awesome feature here where sauce was available at any time.I was thinking it was a mistake but looking at the other reviews about them "forgetting" sides leads me to believe that they're trying to hussle people for they're money. The price gouging is obvious at this restaurant. Two stars for the food tasting good and clean eating area. Value and service zero. Most likely won't return here again.
So we having been coming here for a few years and today was the worst! We had raw chicken and then was told that we had to pay .30 cent for extra sauce that was half full! I mean if you are spending over $60 you should get as much sauce as you want. I did have a whole chicken, tacos and pupusas. I guess I will just go somewhere else I am sure they will be losing some business well I know they have lost mine!
Friends, this place food used to be good. Not sure what happened, maybe new management. If you are looking for authentic food, this is not the place. The prices are pretty high for what they offer. I ordered the corn taco meal. The corn tacos are very small the beef tasted chewy, I could not swallow it. I won’t be coming back.
I have been going here for years, recently their prices skyrocketed. I understand there is inflation, but the 1/4 chicken went up about 5 dollars, I believe. I think it used to be 8.95 and is now I think 13.95. Good is good though, just can't justify paying that much, when I can walk over to Costco and get a whole chicken for 5.
Although my daughter didn't enjoy all of her food, I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and customer service. The ladies were extremely helpful and helped my family practice their Spanish skills ? You get a nice size serving for the money too. The food was good and made fresh. I had the fish tacos with rice and beans. The tacos were really good. I highly recommend the yucca.
This place was a solid 5 stars until I believe they changed ownership/management all the staff has changed and so has the quality of the food. Chicken used to be cooked to perfection to the Bone. Now it isn't always thoroughly cooked and the meat after you eat past the seasoning on the skin does not smell good. Higher prices and lower quality food is assigned to me of change in ownership/management.
Ive been coming to this Guapos for YEARS. Recently they renovated and apparently have new management and the quality food has since gone DOWN. Tacos had barley any meat on them. Pupusas tasted like they were freezer bought. Crunchy and tasteless. I’m super disappointed. Not to mention the price!! I’m paying over $2 for tacos de lengua and I had, no joke, not exaggerating, 5 pieces of lengua on each taco and maybe a teaspoon worth of carne asada on the other tacos. The only reason I’m leaving two stars is for the cashiers. Always super friendly.
It's not the first time we've been to a Guapo's but it was definitely the first time we've been knocked off our chairs with the hospitality and exceptionally high quality of food.We all know the true test of a chicken place is the tenderness and juiciness of the white meat. The dark meat was amazing juicy, as expected, but the white meat was just as tender and delicious with every bite. It was seasoned just right and not overly salty as some places do.An awesome note, they give a good, healthy offering of 6 sauce containers, 3 yellow and 3 green. The green was excellently balanced, not too spicy and allowed the chicken to really shine in the spotlight. The people were very nice and the next time we're out that way it's going to be the spot to hit!
I had a bad experience on, literally, my first time at Guapo’s. I only ordered a tiny cup of chaufa and horchata and they made me wait 1 HOUR. So bad management at the time I went, which was by dinner.
The food is ok but for some reason ever since they change owners it takes forever for you to get your order and the food isn’t as good. I’ve been waiting at my table for a good 15 minutes and I still don’t have my food. Woodbrige location….
