Though the service was good(staff was friendly) and the young man at the register was helpful, the food ended up being quite disappointing. We LOVE flavor and our food had NONE. We ordered a BBQ sandwich, mac and cheese, and green beans - there was no taste of seasoning in any of the food. The only thing that gave the sandwich any semblance of flavor was the sauce we put on it. Additionally, the cheese sauce for the mac and cheese was separated and gritty. Such a bummer - I don't think we'll give this place another try.
My wife and I came here and tried the ribs, Mac and cheese, sausage links, some kind of potato, and baked beans. (A dinner plate for each of us, and we subbed cornbread for regular buns). The wait staff was amazing, but the food . It was all pretty bland and low quality. One of the sausage links was good. But the other one was actually rotten. The cornbread and baked beans were completely inedible. We wish we never went. This is definitely a quantity over quality place, but we love a bbq that taste great.. and this was not it
A must visit BBQ spot, if your looking for an absolute great hole in the wall kinda place. From the great friendly staff to well price menu items, this restaurant will deliver. So fresh and flavorful were the dishes we order, yum!Our waiter ( David) made our 1st time experience a good one. Thank you!We will see you soon.
Great restaurant and country atmosphere. The pulled chicken sandwich needs more flavor and the fries more salt. You can always add salt.
At this point I’m upset…’just no’ as previously noted. I didn’t have time to thoroughly read the reviews because of the train. For travelers at Lofton Train avoid this establishment for your pre-board meal or carry on…the chicken is drier than on the train. Beans flavorless, Mac and cheese wet wet, chicken dessert dry, brisket meh the bbq sauce helps, cornbread smells weird tastes stale and lastly the bread pudding whyyyyyy. I’m mad I just got got for $30.
Prices have gone through the roof for ribs but the quality of food has dropped considerably. Very disappointed and won’t be back. Sides are canned and too many staff just standing around for service to be so slow.

I ordered ribs with a side of mac n cheese, a loaded potato and the muddy potatoes i think they're called. Food tasted good but not at all the quality I expected from the ribs. The sides...take the muddy potatoes off the menu were! Other than that they were ok. The cornbread stood out in a good way over everything else.
Just no…ribs are tender although sauce is thin . However the cabbage with no seasoning, pork and beans straight out of the can and hamburger bun for a roll are terrible. Then you wanna charge $6+ dollars for ONE SLICE of pie?!? Customer service…again a definite no go. Bill was $18. I feelLike I need a refund for $12 of that. SMH
Haven't been in years, but before Dicky's BBQ came to Fairfax, Dixie Bones was the ONLY place to get a proper brisket. The pies (ALL of them) are fantastic as well. Oh, and the catfish. ?
