Poor service and long wait food

Good, solid meal. The cocktails were only so-so. Server was excellent.
We came here on a Saturday afternoon. There were more servers than tables. The tables have devices on them to place orders and call servers over. The hostess was pretty uninterested in seating us. The host stand had 3 people there just hanging out talking. We waited 30 minutes for a server and water, even after having called one, placed an appetizer order, and having gone up to the host stand. Logistically these devices on the table that were supposed to make dining there faster and easier prolonged the process of being helped and seemingly made the staff a little to lax. I’m rating this place high because the food was not bad at the price point and when we did finally get served, our server was amazing and really attentive. I will forewarn that although the food is tasty, it is not really Caribbean. We had the jerk shrimp appetizer which tasted great..but like a shrimp scampi, not a trace of jerk in this shrimp. The salmon was also tasty and the meal altogether was relatively inexpensive for what we purchased. Hopefully they figure things out at this location in terms of getting people serviced faster. I was expecting a quick bite not a 2 hour meal.
I had the ribs and fries. The ribs were not bad. I will not say they tasted bad, but I will say they lacked very much taste. The fries were under cooked, and when I asked for a new batch, I realized that that was way this restaurant cooked the fries - slightly under cooked. My wife had the jerk chicken bowl. She said she could tell that the chicken was added after the other ingredients were cooked. The chicken did not have any of the "jerk" or "pineapple" taste. The tropical Ice mango drink was good.
First time at this restaurant. It was very nice. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. Our waitress was very friendly, polite and professional. It was Saturday night and busy so there was a bit if a wait on the food and ? but that wouldn't stop me from returning. I really was impressed and enjoyed. Even their prices were surprising especially in today's economy. It was nice to get a break from high prices.. I will give one suggestion and that is to increae their menu food chioces.. But all in all I would highly recommend them.

Service was very slow; our server spent too much time out of sight so we had difficulty getting her attention. All our food was very good but the nonalcoholic fancy drinks for kids were so sugary the kids chose not to drink them.
Emma was our waitress and she was awesome. Attentive, polite and helpful.
