Mixed bag.We ordered a variety of sushi here, and what was good was really delicious. Their special "eternal heart roll" was absolutely worth it. But there was a serious lack of consistency. The spicy yellowtail roll was questionable at best, we didn't even finish it because some pieces tasted old and overly fishy while other pieces tasted good. The tako was extremely tough and rubbery and didn't taste fresh. The tempura was a bit thick on the batter giving some rolls a heavy, glutenous and greasy mouth feel. They do have a big menu of creative special rolls to choose from. And our food was served very fast.
Husband and I shared the house stir fry. With yum yum. Egg rolls and crab Rangoon. Taking an entire meal home after both of us ate. Portions are large. Food was hot.Beer was cold.Clean and visually appealing.Only down was I asked for tea with cream and didn't get cream and the dipping sauce dish was dripping sauce all down the side. . totally minimal to the experience though.
horrible service and food
Overall a good visit. They still have the best shrimp tempura in the city. The sushi was good, not outstanding but good. The only thing is the service, I am sure they are short handed, just be ready for a bit of a wait and make sure they get your order correct.
Stumbled upon Red Bowl of Winchester while shopping nearby at Tractor Supply Store.Very attractive environment in the restaurant. Clean and modern.Attentive staff. I ordered to-go some sushi, sushi was fresh and delicious. Only negative here is that only 12 sushi choices, somewhat limited selection. In a shopping center. Plenty of free parking. Prices reasonable.I will be back again!
1st time there. Ordered to go. Staff extremely friendly and prices very good. Food was ready in 20 minutes.Got 5 different bowls and 2 sides. 4 bowls were somewhat bland, all tasted strangely similar, kind of dry and more rice or noodles than meat & vegetables. The bulk of the menu is rolls so we will try again for sure.
Although I'm not a fan of sushi and cannot speak for their sushi, this place disappointed me. To be fair I wasn't in the mood for the type of food they serve their but I do know I like pineapple fried rice. I ordered theirs and although it looked appetizing to the eye, the food had absolutely no flavor. I NEVER have to put salt on my food at restaurants but this was a first. The service was a little slow, but not terrible. I would it go back, but if you're into sushi then I would suggest trying it and letting others know how it is.
Sashimi was fresh and presented well. Even the California rolls were very good. I also liked the dumpling soup. Glad there's a good sushi place in this area!My only complaint is that they wanted a signed receipt for my takeout order even though I already prepaid and tipped online. All the credit card companies stopped requiring signatures in 2018 so that's just a waste of energy.
Food was very bland. 3 different bowls ordered and no one liked their food. The sushi was decent but have had better in the area. First and last time coming here. Service was decent though.
Enjoyed the meal here since there were vegan options with the "do it yourself" hibachi grill option. The metal dish for adding ingredients to the build your own is rather small...and made for the experienced artistic individual who can stack it the highest...or you will have less items in your final meal! The music is pop and sometimes pop-rap. The final "red bowl" is perfect for the hungry person...and way too much for those with smaller appetites. Improvements in my opinion are more classical/asian/oriental/fusion music and larger metal bowels for vegetarians at the "DIY" hibachi line and finally more vegan and gluten free options.
