New favorite restaurant. Friendly service, a great atmosphere and the food was DELICIOUS!

My new favorite restaurant. Service was friendly, atmosphere was great and the food was DELICIOUS!

Highlight of our trip to Winchester! First, we had fantastic service from our waiter, Matt. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and he definitely wanted us to have a great dining experience. I enjoyed their homemade Bloody Mary to start, then I had the catfish dinner. The cornmeal coating on the catfish was flavorful and so crunchy, but it still allowed the fish to be the star. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits which was the creamiest we’ve ever had. The collard greens and coleslaw sides were soooo good and perfectly balanced out the richness of our main entrees. It’s been a long time since we’ve enjoyed a meal so much. We were so full that we had to take our dessert home with us. We enjoyed that today…..a cheesecake brownie. It was a giant piece of dessert, plenty big enough to share. I don’t love an overly sweet dessert, so I wasn’t thrilled at the idea, but I kept going back for another bite of this dessert. It was incredibly yummy…..the cheesecake filling wasn’t overly sweet. It was so right and made each bite of the blonde brownie and cookie layer heavenly. I’m so glad we found Bonnie Blue!

Excellent Sunday brunch. Just accept that parking will be tight. Cider mimosa delicious. My wife would not share her crab cake eggs Benedict

What a wonderful eclectic food experience in Winchester. The menu offers well prepared, reasonably priced classic southern dishes. Our table tried some classic seafood. My wife enjoyed an original interpretation of shrimp and cheesy grits featuring perfectly cooked shrimp, two kinds of onions, one cooked and one raw as a garnish, tomatoes and just the right amount of cheese. The lady dining with us, a local had the quintessential southern dish of cornbreaded fried catfish filet. The filet was tender, flaky and offered a delicious fresh taste. My choice for the night was their all meat and no filler crab cake. It was better than crab cakes I have eaten in Maryland. We all opted for their homemade coleslaw. It was a good choice. The dressing was slightly tart and crisp without being overbearing. Their “mom’s potato salad was an interesting presentation and enjoyable treat. The wait staff made the meal fun and memorable. They were kind, friendly and very attentive to our requests and needs. They also have a full in house bakery. Their dessert tray looked and smelled amazing. Unfortunately, because of the generous portions, we were too full to sample anything. We will be back tonight for coffee and dessert. If you would enjoy some well cooked southern food in a very unique, refreshing and fairly priced restaurant, this is your best choice. Finally, the aroma of wood fired barbecue greets you as you step from your vehicle in the parking lot.

We had excellent French toast and biscuits with sausage gravy and country potatoes. We are in the “to go” area. There was inside and outside seating there, and you get to see the kitchen staff cooking in this area. They also have an incredible selection of amazing and delicious baked goods. In addition, the service was outstanding. Do not miss eating here!

My family & I stopped here on our way to Williamsburg. I was searching Trip Advisor for restaurant options and this little blue building immediately caught my attention. What was once an old gas station, is now a cute little hidden gem! It’s nothing fancy. It’s cracked & run down BUT that is absolutely what gives it its character! The staff is amazing and the food was fantastic! The mix of breakfast and BBQ was perfect! I can’t recommend Bonnie Blue enough!

Recommended by a local---and as usual they were spot-on. I had french toast and my husband had the Cuban breakfast, both were excellent, prices reasonable and portions large. Their outside patio is nice and shady. Sarah our server could not have been nicer and made our experience all the better. Baked goods are tasty too. Will definitely return when in the area!

This is NOT a five star restaurant, however, what it is outshines a five star place. Small, simple and very unpretenious, this restaurant provides excellent food, service and reasonable pricing. The menu is simple with stick to your ribs food, Add in the local bakery next door ( Coconut Cake is excellent) and you have all of the ingredients for fantasic dining experience.

We literally just left lol and we ordered the steak and both were not cooked right and they forgot to put my daughter's meal in but got it out super fast. Every place makes mistakes but most don't wanna do anything as a way to make it right. They went above and beyond not only did they recook our steaks perfectly they gave all 5 of us free desert, didn't charge for my daughter's fried chicken meal and gave us the friend & family discount. Not only that we tried to buy a Apple Cider on the way to leave and they just let us have it. I've never seen a place so so much to make it better. The deserts were amazing, it all was. The manager was the sweetest and our server was great especially for being new. I can't recommend this place enough for the polite way they handled it. We'll definitely be back
