Rude customer service i found hair in my food and saw a roach crawling on the floor and he tried to say it wasn't hair it was an onion...like really? Just nasty!!!!
Tops china is my favorite on Richmond Rd great food and friendly service but this one on John Tyler limited options extremely stubborn and refused substitution worker rude talking on phone in the middle of order watched her talk rude to every customer and ignore their request customer service is very important it was a bad experience I won't come back again
I have ordered delivery from here a couple of times, mostly from lack of choices in Williamsburg. My boyfriend really likes General Tsos and is one of the very few Chinese restaurants that have it and deliver it (via Uber eats). Long story short. Every time I order from here, I regret it. I have tried several of their dishes and I do not think of myself as a picky person. But I do like GOOD food. Meaning tasty, flavorful food, that is cooked just right. Tops China is serves none of those things. The chicken is always super dry. The fried rice always lacks flavor, and their sauces for their marinated meats always seem to missing something. The only thing that we have actually semi enjoyed is their Wonton soup.
If there is a long line, it's worth the wait. The food is that good. Top's China has some of the best Chinese fast food I've ever eaten.
We had to wait 30 minutes past the pickup time to get our food. The food itself was dry and not very good. Some of the dishes were not what was expected (chow mein that had no noodles at all). Not the worst, but not very good.
My husband and I have been coming here for years! This is our go to Chinese take-out! The food always delicious and hot, but it's become so popular that dinner can sometimes back up order speed.
With all those online orders you would think they had enough money to filter the oil each day and change it once the oil starts to turn black because it was really burnt oil.smellWhich makes the food terribleI want my money backShould have walked out once I smelled that black lol smellLearned lessonNever again
This is my local chinese place and I have been coming here for years and don't intend to stop. Foodwise I haven't had any real issues. I do think that occasionally the staff prioritizes Doordash/Grubhub orders over call ins (it's never ready when I get there). It is what it is these days; I don't mind waiting for freshly cooked food. My reasoning behind only 3 stars is that, when waiting 15 minutes for my food to be cooked I do tend to look around an establishment and I couldn't help but notice how DIRTY the waiting area was! The ceiling, lighting fixtures and vents have visible buildup, there's significant dust and grime in the window sills, and cobwebs built up in the corners. I hope that the staff keeps it cleaner in the kitchen area but the establishment really needs to start spring cleaning a little early this year.
No matter how far in advance I call Tops, my order is never ready. Just this past weekend, I ordered some soup and chicken wings. I was told my order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes after I ordered and still had to wait 30 minutes for a total wait time of 60 minutes and it wasn't even a busy time. I don't think they start cooking your order until you show up and pay. If that is the case, why not take my credit card over the phone? Or even better, note the fact that I am a loyal customer and have never failed to show and pay for my order. If it wasn't for the fact that they have decent food, I would go elsewhere.
As close to old school NY chinese as you can get fantastic
