I visited Sal's for the first time last evening with a friend who lives locally. The atmosphere was friendly and family friendly. I ordered the calamari that was disappointing. It was bland like it came from Sysco or us foods. The sauce had no taste. For my Entree I ordered the Roasted Salmon over vegetables. The salmon was cooked just right and very flavorful. The vegetables were crisp and tasty. I would highly recommend this dish. My friend ordered the Stuffed Flounder which he enjoyed but it had a little too much sauce that made the fish soggy. Overall, I would visit again and try the pasta or pizza.

Fabulous food and a terrific menu. Our waiter was superb.

great price and great food with a lot variety.

My husband and I arrived in Williamsburg in the late afternoon. As it was so hot and we were tired from the long drive, we didn't feel like going out so we ordered a meat-lovers pizza for pickup. The pizza had lots of meat and was very tasty. Definitely going back to try other food they prepare.

Sal's is the Real Deal in Italian restaurants! Wonderful pasta dishes, great service, fantastic wine cellar, and a relaxing family vibe. Did I mention the desserts are divine?? The Tiramasu is phenomenal ? and the Lemon cake is off-the-hook!! ? The pizza looked great, too!Never had a bad meal. Check ✔️ them out next time you are hungry for "True" Italian.

Visting Williamsburg and heard great things about this place. Made a reservation for 6pm, we arrived, greeted and sat straightaway. Waiter was freindly and attentive, made recommendations and good came out piping hot and quickly. We love Italian food and this place was very authentic on taste and quality. We got peppers and sausage rigatoni, one dish of gluten free pasta with chicken and artichokes and eggplant sub. We all loved it and the check was very reasonable. If you are in Colonial Williamsburg or Bush Gardens, give this place a try.

We actually ordered and picked up the Medium Everything pizza. We also ordered fried zucchini and calamari for an appetizer. All the food was very good. I plan to eat in their restaurant the next time we are in Williamsburg.

I am speechless. This restaurant was such a disappointment. Let me preface this by saying that, as an individual who frequents Michelin acclaimed restaurants, what I find unacceptable may be totally fine for many people. This is my opinion, and it is my right to express that. PLEASE TAKE THIS ALL WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. Sadly, the appetizers set the tone for the meal. We had an Antipasto Salad, which contained a very papery lettuce and what looked like store-bought ham and dressing. I mean, I know it’s small town Virginia, but still! Food like this was heartbreaking for me, especially since the restaurant got so many good reviews. Their “Homemade Meat Lasagna” tasted like it had been sitting in a freezer until a couple of hours ago, when it had been partially heated on a stove. Not only did the the temperature of the dish vary from lukewarm to scorching, but it was horrendously thin, measuring roughly 2.5 inches high. At this point, I just asked for the check and left. It was clear that their desserts were going to be lackluster at best. I am simply astounded as to how this restaurant actually managed to receive a five-star review. One of the main reasons I was so disappointed in their food was it’s lack of originality. I saw no experimentation or even common practices, such as a spinach ‘rotelle’ or squid ink ‘liguine’. There were so many ways they could step up their “game” with their dishes it was not even funny. Just by making some small quality tweaks and raising prices, well, I think this quote from my favorite K-Pop group sums it up: “…Next level, yeah!” I also have severe issues with fried mozzarella sticks on an Italian restaurant’s menu. This might be my ignorance, but isn’t that a very American thing? The service was rushed, as they had a student group eating in a dining room in the back. Terrifyingly noisy. Someone needed to have told them to be more quiet and less rowdy. It took thirty minutes for my pitiful Antipasto salad to arrive because the server was busy dealing with ‘them’. I do think I had poorly timed my seat for lunch, and that the service could have been a LOT better. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the low cost of the food. Although it wasn’t worth it, I do consider it a rare day indeed when I spend less than $50 on a single meal. Basically, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal. If it’s close, and you want something to eat on, say a 30 minute lunch break, order the takeout. Will it be good? No Is it edible? Sort of

Good food & service. Bigger than I thought. Staff friendly. Wasn't hard to get to from Historic Williamsburg.

We had planned to go somewhere else for dinner and at the last minute decided to come here based on the reviews. I’m so glad we did. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was incredible. If I ever return to Williamsburg this will be the first place I visit.
