I have been going here since 1985 and have always enjoyed eating there. If you like Southern cuisine this is your place. The wait staff is always pleasant and congenial. Love their homemade pies. Will continue eating there as long as I can drive from Norfolk to Williamsburg.

Everything was delicious! The biscuits were the best, was shocked to see they made them the way they used to make biscuits. Service was amazing! Satisfied everyone in my family! Served fast and fresh! They also had a gift shop that was really cool! The best part was getting to meet Stewart the cat! He was so sweet, friendly and adorable!

The price for the lunch was very reasonable. The meal consisted in a peach topped with cream and cheese, a bowl or cup of Brunswich stew which to us appeared much like vegetable soup with pulled pork, flat biscuits with ham inside, and topped with a piece of pie.

We visit this place at least twice on every visit to Williamsburg. Southern breakfast at it's best. Polite and attentive staff, consistently GOOD food, and reasonable prices. They have a personal touch and feel that you do not find very much any more. Dan, thanks again for all your gracious help! (Oh, and always be sure to try to say hi to the kitty (which is a tradition that goes back a long way!)

The food was really good. The service was excellent. Every member of staff we interacted with was super friendly. Everything here was homemade. I've never had flat biscuits before, so that was pretty interesting. The Brunswick stew was really good. What you really want is the pie. OMG, the pie! I cannot stress enough, get the pie. Whoever makes the pie, really knows what they are doing. It was a really nice, Southern family meal. So good. Also, the value for the money is really good.

Breakfast was just okay. Pancakes were very large, but kind of chewy and not very fluffy. Biscuits were also not wonderful. Eggs were good. Service was wonderful and people were very friendly! The place itself is kind of cool, an old house with antique furniture and a gift shop. But the best part of our visit was Stewart the cat!!! I just wanted to stay with him all day!! ♥️

Truly one of the very best meals we had on our trip! The food was excellent with a chicken breast with dumplings, 2 flattened biscuits with finely shaved Virginia ham, sweet tea, fruit salad and baked pies!!

The tastiest breakfast I've ever had in my life... from the simplest scrambled egg to the fruits it looks like everything was prepared by fairies it's so delicious, the staff is fantastic and the customer service is incredible

Really nice place. Food is simple but with a twist. Staff are very pleasant and informative. They have a small gift shop that you can look thru if you need to wait. Be sure to order their coconut pie. It was awesome.

I was part of a large group that had lunch here, and the only vegetarian. The standard lunch package was canned peach, leaf of lettuce, and some type of cream, followed by stew and ham sandwich, and ending with one of four types of pie. Instead of stew, I got vegetable soup, quite hot, too. But while everyone else got sandwiches, I got two small pieces of flat bread. It would've been easy to have slipped lettuce and slices of tomato and cheese in there, but instead I get met with a disdainful look from the man who was running the place. Among the choices of pie offered, I picked the "buttermilk" pie as I had never even heard of this and thought I would try it. It tasted like a bland custard with a tinge of lemon. And the place, despite its ambience, was extremely noisy! Otherwise, service was good, tea (sweetened or unsweetened) was plentiful, and the gift shop provided interesting browsing.
