The first time I had your brisket I was hoping it would be as fantastic as I had heard. It was covered in pepper to the point where I couldn't even taste the brisket. I thought I'd give it another shot so I came in this evening and ordered a little bit of everything. The brisket and corned beef were so salty they were inedible. Such a waste after spending over $80. The potato salad is good although this time it was made with too much mustard. I'm from south Texas where BBQ is life so maybe I'm missing something about this very peppery and salty style of BBQ. If brisket is smoked properly, you don't need to over-power the flavor of the beef with intense pepper and salt rubs. Unfortunately I won't be back and can't recommend.
I truly enjoyed my brisket sandwich with mac n cheese in the sandwich. I think it was about $15 not bad at all. The brisket was so tender and juicy! The place is a nice place with a bar inside. When we walked in, it was kind of like a counter where you could see the food as you order. One of the chefs was cutting fresh brisket when we arrived, looked amazing, and tasted even better. Not too many healthy options, but I knew what I was getting into when I walked in, it was my cheat day. Would definitely come back for another cheat day meal.
Ridiculously good BBQ- probably the best we have ever had. We got the brisket sandwich, turkey, sausage and some sides. Not a thing was left on the plate and the staff, chef and owner were so incredibly kind. The food was so original and well done- you can tell they are passionate about what they do. Thanks for being a bright spot in our vacation!
So let tell you about this place. It was recommended to us by my cousin after our visit to colonial Williamsburg. We were kindly recieved by the staff who explained us that the restaurant makes BBQ sandwiches. You can look at the photo on this review.I took The Colonial, a brisket, pulled pork and sausage sandwich; and Holy mother of sandwiches. Not only was it huge, it was delicious. I took a side of Mac and cheese which was also pretty good, very cheese.I highly recommend this place if you visit Colonial Williamsburg.
Smoked brisket and pulled pork were truly second to none! Incredibly flavorful and moist and juicy. I have tried numerous barbecue places across the country but don't believe any have ever beaten this. If you are in the area, you absolutely must check this place out! Kudos to the Pit Master!
The experience was a disappointment to say the least. The food was not on par with cost. The brisket was over salted, the sandwich bun was dry, and the Reuben eggrolls were literally dripping grease. The collards were tasty but the mac and cheese was gooey. This was my first time and will be my last eating here.
I live in Houston Texas, and the brisket here is absolutely amazing! The bloody mary was the bomb too! So, if you want amazing barbecue, I highly recommend this place! And the staff are very nice!
Love this place! Taco Tuesday was absolutely perfect. First time visiting the store front. Great food, great service. Highly recommend fried chicken tacos any day !!
Oh. My. God. Everything was amazing! Customer service was top notch, pulled pork was flavorful, Mac n cheese was so so good with a bit of a heat to it. The sweet tea was perfection and they even have the good ice! highly recommend and will definitely be back!!
Today we tried Matchsticks BBQ Co. for the first time. If you think you’ve had good brisket… believe me you haven’t had THIS good of a brisket! Seriously their brisket is a show stopper. The outside was perfectly seasoned with a mildly salted smokey crust that wrapped around tender juicy perfection! We also tried the pork BBQ (try it with their SC vinegar… the perfect pairing with a bit of sour heat) and the hot sausage which were also full of flavor and reasonably priced. Not only was the food azaming, the folks that work there are top notch. We’ll be back again when we visit Williamsburg.
