I am a long time Patron this establishment and I enjoy the experience each and every time whether I'm sitting in the restaurant and enjoying a meal which I do a lot or doing takeout which I've done this last time. they have the most freshest tortilla chips, and their salsa including their white dip is amazing. it is nothing like any of the other restaurants in the area that I've been to before. the food is flavorful and they're always willing to do any modifications you may need as necessary to a meal,. we have never ever had a bad service or a bad meal there, we've always gone feeling like we're special and it's warm, and it's really nice when you've Patron and establishment so long you can even be calling in a phone order and they know who you are such as in our case lol? but this is definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants that I have ever been to since moving back to virginia. now don't get me wrong I've been to other Mexican restaurants in the area but they do not taste the same as la tolteca. they have the most wonderful staff including Maria and whether we get her as our waitress or she's on the phone she has managed to remember our usual order for over 2 and 1/2 years now. she's a delight she's very nice she's always proactive if you need anything and she in addition to the great food there always what makes our experience there so wonderful. it's one of the reasons why that's one of our favorite dinner spots and even as a family as a whole. oh let me not forget their drinks are amazing they do not skimp on the alcohol you definitely get quality drinks especially the mixed ones Frozen or on the rocks of what you pay for. and even their horchata....so if you're looking for a good Mexican and the Williamsburg area don't be afraid to go out towards the outlets and go to La Tolteca it's right next door to Captain George's you will enjoy it, and hopefully you'll become a reoccurring long-term customer such as I am!
This place was amazing. Within a minute of sitting down our server had chips and salsa on the table. Another couple of minutes and our drinks were on the table and our order taken. Everyone greeted us with a smile and they genuinely seemed happy to be there. When we first sat down I saw a parrot (decor). It was really shiny. But then my eyes went to the hanging lights - they too were shiny. The decor is wonderful. Looking around we realized this restaurant was amazingly clean - it literally shined everywhere! Our fajitas and sides were served quickly. The food is so delicious, but the refried beans really put it over the top. So glad we came here!
decor is lovley, when seated, you get salsa and tortilla chips. we ordered a small bowl of queso...then Texas fajitas for 2 and a passion fruit aqua Fresca (the fajitas were shrimp, chicken and steak, peppers and onions) perfect seasoning and 3 tortillas per person... best I've ever had. customer service was great!!! would go back
First, they advertised closed at 10:30; arrived at 9:30 placed order at 9:45. They did not respect me enough to give the option to stay or go, because now they are starting to close, fine. Second you give me the worst meal ever!!! I don't care about clean up while I wait, that is the nature of the beast. But to take my money for what I was served is considered robbery by trickery!!!! Should have given me the option!
Great food, and very fast service. We live an hour away and I left my card on accident and they were even kind enough to mail it back to me.I would give this restaurant more stars if I could. They went above and beyond!?
My family and I love to travel and one of the things we love to do is try local food and places from the area. Tolteca left us with the urge to go back again. We celebrated my mother's birthday and she enjoyed it, including the part where the waitresses came to sing Happy Birthday, a very nice touch girls! Our waitress Hayzee was amazing, attentive to details, friendly and even though she was wearing a mask, I could tell she always had a smile for us. The food was really good!! Recommending the Fajita Burrito and the Chicken Primavera Quesadilla. The place is clean and homey. Glad we chose to try this place out and we will be back. Props to the chef, the host and specially Hayzee! Un gusto haberla conocido ? You won't regret going here!
Food was delicious. The arroz con pollo was great. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
Really loved my dinner pick here. I had the T-Bone steak with rice and veggie. My niece had the carne asada tacos. It was well seasoned and just enough. My daughter had chicken quesadilla. My friend chose Pozole with rice and beans. The refried beans were one of the best that I’ve had in ages.My only complaint is that the guacamole isn’t fresh and it didn’t taste fresh. It seemed like it was prepared and then refrigerated. For drinks, I had a Strawberry and a lime Margarita. The lime was with Jose Cuervo. Loved it. I also ordered a sangaria. The fruits weren’t drenched, they were freshly chopped. My daughter had a Guava juice. It was good, it tasted like a squeezed ripe guava. Our waitress was attentive and constantly checked on us. Overall, my family and I had a really great experience here.
The street tacos with chorizo were very tasty. As well as the enchiladas. Very tasty. The margarita left a little too be desired. Tasted a little watered down. But I would go back for the food alone.
Very unique dishes served here. A twist on Mexican m Al's you would find at most restaurants. We ate here twice in one week.
