Very slow service. Employees joking and chatting amongst themselves instead of working.

The lady making the drinks behind the counter on Sunday June 26 was extremely rude. We did not realize there was a lemon in tea and we simply asked if there was lemon. Instead of politely saying there’s already lemon in there, she gave us a nasty attitude and we apologized. She gave us a rude look and walked away.

Excellent coffee too! Fresh and fast bakery/cafe

While the coffee is great—being that this is an illy after all—the staff were not so great. Now, I don’t expect a full blown production when I’m interacting with the staff of any business, but I do expect at least some general positivity coming from them: baristas here seemed so down and depressed. They were not inviting or friendly when I ordered, putting me off. Maybe they had a bad day? However, I would come back again, just because the coffee is so delicious.

The interior is like walking into a European coffee bistro. The baristas grind the beans for each espresso as we watch. Delicious! The shop has a side door leading into a decorating shop full of floral arrangements. The whole effect is transporting, and yet my coffee drink was in line price wise with other coffee shops like Starbucks. I left a bag behind and it was waiting behind the counter with a note that it belonged to a customer. The walking street in this block of Merchants Square is filled with umbrella tables. I look forward to going back!

Came in for the happy hour, $6 chianti! Coffee is also pretty good here. Love the same and service.

I love this place! The croissants and savories that they offer are delicious and so are their cappuccinos and other beverages. They also have gelatos. Friendly service and pleasant atmosphere. Outside dining is available.

I like this place a lot, and I stop by all the time. Two problems: 1) the design of the large coffee cup is horrible. The handle is so small. You can’t drink hot coffee out of that cup without burning your hands. But I realize this isn’t the fault of the employees, all of whom are great. 2) the patio tables outside are so dirty, and though customers are expected to wipe down their own tables, there’s no provided cleaning supplies like spray or wipes outside.

Lovely cafe, clean, immaculate, and well run. We both enjoyed coffee, me a spinach/feta pastry, my husband a bagel with lox and cream cheese and spilt an almond pastry. Everything was enjoyable and loved the fact you can get a free refill if you have your coffee in a mug vs. paper. We ate inside, though they had a good size outside eating area. P.S. Bonus, the place was beautifully appointed.

The amazing Illy coffee in a coffee shop?!?!? This is awesome! Cortado wasn’t on the menu, but they made one for us. Lungo wasn’t on the menu either, but the managing barista asked us if we trusted him and made a delicious one. Also, we found a variety of Illy coffees that you cannot find in the store.
