10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Do yourself a favor and go to chilis for better food. We went for a nice fancy anniversary dinner and it was awful. Not one good thing to say about the place. It was hot. The steaks were disgusting. The vegetables weren’t even cooked. Our server was rude and made us feel so judged and unwelcome. Such a waste of time and money. We ordered a large and small steak and they were the same size. I will never go here again. They advertise the best steak along with asparagus and it’s not even their food. Skip skip skip.
Friendly staff and good assortment on the menu but the portions were small. I ordered the seafood platter and it had 3 shrimp, 3 scallops, and a portion of fish - expected more for the price. Would not take children there - tables too close together and noise volume slightly high. Food was good just not enough of it.
We had dinner here. We were seated immediately. The waiter was very good. The food was delicious & you got plenty of it. I would definitely eat here again.
This restaurant rates with the best in town. After a long day of walking the beautiful historic section of Williamsburg, we were ready to relax and enjoy wine and good food.Oh my, this restaurant fit the bill perfectly. Our waiter was Walter, who served us as though we were the only ones in the roomHis personal attention was aimed at making our dining experience the best he could offer. The food was so delicious , churned butter for our rolls had a delicate sweet taste, not to be missed. The crab cake was excellent !Although a side salad was not on the menu, I asked Walter for one , and he served me a crispy fresh salad that was just right. The side vegetables were market fresh .I definitely will come back to this restaurant again.
Add on to review below : every meal we got was supposed to come with a house salad. We did not know this until looking at menu online the next day. Our server did not being a salad up or ask what dressing for salad like other restaurants. 7 meals did not receive a complete order of what we all paid for. This place isn’t as great as I thought it was going to be from other reviews. As soon as we walked in we felt very judged and felt very welcomed.Every worker seemed rude & not really wanting to be there…We were two mins late to a reservation (party or 9) in that was 3 kids and they took our name off the list and acted like it was a big deal even though they weren’t busy at all. (We we’re traveling so we weren’t dressed up but felt very judged.)Everything we ordered seemed like it was prepared days before and just microwaved. Very small portions also. Ordered sangria and I saw the bartender just dump from a tea pitcher of pre made sangria that was not very good and warm again seemed days old. They have a kids meal menu but no kids cups so my two year old drank out of a glass. No straws. They told us they can’t split the check. Just not very pleased with anything from this restaurant.
It wasn't awful but really does look a little sketchy. It's very outdated, almost has that Hells Kitchen vibe. We didn't want to stay but it was the only place on a Saturday night that didn't have a wait, and everyone was very nice. Most of us played out safe and got burgers since you can't really mess that up and they were actually good. The ones that got steak said it was very plain and almost like liked it was boiled not grilled. The steak sandwich was not good and wasn't eaten. We won't be back though that's for sure.
Seemed that it would be a decent restaurant at first however the service was lacking at best. The waitress seemed to forget that part of the service was to offer menu items to the customer such as a salad. We didn't think they even had salads until we saw them on other patrons tables. She offered no drink choices, we later asked for drinks. There were no straws in this age of Covid. We even had to ask for a bread basket. Stuffed shrimp was ok. Vegetables were grossly undercooked just about raw. Was even told that my daughter couldn't get a to go cup for her lemonade that she was unable to finish. Who denies service to paying & tipping customers? Don't waste your time or your money.
My husband and I decided to have dinner there on our first night in Williamsburg. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was a very nice gentleman who made sure to keep our glasses full and checked back with us frequently to see if we needed anything. I had the Delmonico with baked potato and a side of vegetables. The steak was cooked exactly as I requested and was very good. I ordered the small portion but was surprised at how large it was. The potato was good as were the vegetables. My husband had the seafood combo which was also very good. Portion size was generous. He had a side of rice and vegetables. There was really nothing to complain about. I visited the ladies room while there and it was very clean as was the rest of the restaurant. For those complaining about the decor or atmosphere, I don’t see the big deal. The place is clean, the service was good, as was the food and the prices were reasonable.
Came to eat here after a long day of traveling with my family. It looks fancy but it’s not very fancy at all. Our server was an older gentleman that barely spoke to us the whole time. He was awkward and stood over us while we ate. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer and the chips it came with were nacho chips you get at a high school football game..and they were stale. My crab cake sandwich was decent but my “red skin potatoes” were instant mashed potatoes. My families steak tasted microwaved. Overall terrible experience do not waste your money here!
We weren’t sure what to expect but tried Fireside anyway. To start with, the waiter. As has been said in other reviews our waiter was an elderly man that didn’t say much and could be hard to understand, but we weren’t there to be entertain by the wait staff. He took our orders, was quick on getting our bar drinks to us, keep our water glasses filled and checked on us after he delivered our meals, pretty much what I want from a waiter. The food was tasty. My wife got a steak which was cooked as ordered and had good flavor. I had the broiled seafood platter which was a good portion and had a good flavor. As far as the decor, the place could use a little “umph” but it was clean and served it’s purpose. If we come back to Williamsburg we will eat here again.
