Sushis were ok, we were expecting better than that. Philly rolls didn’t taste like anything. Soy sauce was really salty. Music was boring. The plage was really clean and nice decor. Also they give a roll on the house which is nice

A GEM ?! :My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch today and we were blown away ?‍? ?.All the staff were so quick and so pleasant! We received several items ‘on the house’— for NO reason .We eat A LOT of sushi and this place is one of the best we’ve ever had.FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS:?Edamame 10/10?Twin Tower Roll 12/10?Dream Roll 10/10?Veggie Spring Roll 10/10?Chicken Teriyaki 12/10?Miso Soup 10/10

Very fun to go to! Service was great and the food (especially the gyoza) was fantastic. My partner and I both ate our fill and the total was barely thirty dollars, even with the amazing on the house food and the great quality. Would definitely recommend to anyone, whether a sushi lover or not (there are some fantastic non-sushi items). For a nice meal or even a quick bite, this is the place to go.

My husband and I were visiting Virginia Beach and wanted some sushi for dinner… this YamaChen’s location popped up so went. Oh my gosh… absolutely incredible!! From our lovely waitress, Vicky, to the food itself… We loved it so much we went back the following weekend! Highly recommend!

This is now my favorite sushi place. The food was excellent and so was the service. If you love sushi, check this place out!

So I've been coming to this place since '07. I've met the owners and saw this place expand over the past years. I believe they have more than 4 locations in the Hampton roads area. This place is great! Volcano, Ironman, Twin Tower, Candy Cane, etc are my go to rolls. Great for large gatherings. I'll never get tired of this place. Never had any bad experiences either. They have more restaurants in and around Virginia beach and a place in Chesapeake. They also give you sushi rolls on the house and sometimes free dessert. It's just that kind of restaurant. I've taken avid sushi lovers and first time sushi goers here and no ones complained. Says a lot about the quality and service of this awesome place.

The restaurant is decorated nicely and the staff was friendly. The rolls that we ordered were mediocre. Can't really put my finger on exactly what was unappetizing, but ended up taking all the rolls "to-go" after sitting down for dine-in and trying them (Didn't have the heart to leave 3 entire uneaten rolls on the table). The 3 star review is being generous. Some red flags: #1) An empty sushi restaurant on Saturday night at dinner time. #2) Edamame, egg rolls and cheesecake bites "on the house".

First time trying sushi from here and it was beyond HORRIBLE. I've never in my life order sushi with real crab and still have the shells on in the roll????? I literally almost choked it felt like I was chewing egg shells. I was so excited to try them by all the high ratings, so this was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately will not be back.

Nice and clean, good portions of plates. Taste and very warm welcoming. Very kind people and have you as their guest. Nice best sushi and best people.

BEWARE MENU CHANGED: This place used to be so good! I ordered a lunchbox 1, Hawaii roll with Kani Salad. I expected to get what they showed in their picture, but I was missing the rice ball and the pork wonton thingy…. I called to ask them why those items weren’t included and I was then informed they don’t off those items with the lunchbox anymore… I told her it’s very misleading and expensive to get so little and that they should update their website… the girl that answered the phone told me that she’s not the one to speak to about that… ummm can you figure out who to take that message too? Overall, I didn’t get a resolution when I brought the issue to them so now I’m leaving a review. Bad customer service!
