My pictures don't do it any justice. Please come and taste for yourself! The fish was perfectly seasoned. Might just be the best tasting fish I ever had. The wings are huge! The staff behind the counter were very nice and welcoming. They let me customize one of their combo options.Please be patient with them. They are a new Black owned business and are constantly growing as more hype and 5-star reviews come in. I wish them all success. I will definitely be coming back.
The food was amazing. I got the turkey wings on rice with Mac and Cheese, potato salad, cornbread, and banana Pudding as my dessert. I also got to try a piece of the fried fish. When I tell you the flavors and seasonings from that perfectly fried fish was so delicious believe me it's no other place to get fish like it. The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. I was greeted as soon I walked in the door. I will most definitely be back. They did not disappoint at all.
Anybody that knows me knows that food is my happy place and it’s hard to satisfy my cravings sometimes because people lack in flavor but MY GOD!! This place fed my soul today!!! They gave me a tasting today and EVERYTHING danced and had a party in mouth with all the flavor and love attached to it including the service they provided!! I left out of there feeling like i was part of the family ?. Y’all go check them out I promise you won’t be disappointed!!
Went to this really cool black owned business in the heart of Va beach. If you love soul food this is a must go. I had the crispy fried chicken, collard greens and sweet yams & of course a slice of sweet potato pie for dessert. Food was 10/10, hospitality was 10/10. What’s Cooking at Grannies House, feels and tastes like a plate from your grandma’s house. I’ll be back for seconds!
Hubby and I wanted seafood without the hassle- thank you, internet for pointing us to Chef Skip 757 :0) We ordered take out- an order of 2 crab cakes with cole slaw and a fish, shrimp and crab cake plate with cole slaw. The seasoning on everything is fantastic. Warm, slightly spicy and delicious. My crab cakes were the perfect ratio of crab to breading and CHOCK full of great crab with NOT ONE shell. My hubby's plate looked great, too. I tried his fish it was flaky, tender and flavorful. My only critique is that the slaw was a little dry and needed more dressing. But the blend was good, the chop was good and the dressing that was on there was good. We will definitely order takeout from Mr. Skip again.
First time having this place and was 100% satisfied. The Philly and Shrimp was prepared well and all social distancing measures were strictly adhered to. I will definitely be returning to try more items and catering.
The first time I tried this location, I was so impressed that it shared and didn't get much, so I decided to come back for just myself! I would come back for the Fried CrabCake Sandwich, Lemon Pepper Wings, and Fish Tacos any day! Top notch service, smiling staff and management with a feeling of love!
This is some of the most amazing soul food in the whole Virginia Beach area !! I’ve only known about it for a week now and been twice. Their Greens and Mac N Cheese are bomb AF !!!! I’ll definitely be coming again and again !
