Meh….The service was okay. Sat at the bar for some apps. Not super friendly but not rude. Had a glass of wine out of a bottle that was open too long with the original cork in it (the best one they offered but I forgive them - this is NO wine place). I had the OBVIOUSLY previously frozen coconut shrimp which tasted like cardboard was the main binder. For this price point, I am happy to find many other options within blocks.
Want a fun, clean, lively atmosphere with great food? Then you need to stop in and relax from a busy day at Tempt Restaurant. The food was amazing AND we were able to get a wonderfully prepared gluten free pizza. We had great service from Karissa and we will definitely request her again.
Extremely disappointed. Sat us in opposites rooms in the restaurant under the same reservation name. Server was inattentive. Served entrees before salads. Brought silverware when a drink was ordered. Put in an order for an incorrect entree and didn’t receive the correct one until 10 minutes after the rest of the table was finished eating but then said she was giving us a break by charging the entree the price the other entree she incorrectly placed was $1 less. That entree should have been comped.
delicious wood fired pizza! the fried Oreos is a must! great customer service as well. the server was so friendly and pleasant!
Came to VA Beach for the Shamrock Marathon and found this place by chance. After reviewing online, we called for reservations and were able to get a spot for a crowded evening. We were seated upon arrival, and, once we entered, were not disappointed. Our server was attentive, and after seating, were visited by the owner who made us feel as if we were his guests for the evening with his personal stories and recommendations for places to visit while in town. We had a few questions regarding the menu, which our server answered eloquently, and our choices were made. For those who wonder- yes, the oysters Santa Fe are wonderful! An absolute must if available! We enjoyed the blackened tuna and the filet. Both were as good as we have had. The sides- mashed potatoes, asparagus, and andouille, complimented each as well. Portions are very plentiful and well worth the price. As we were leaving and in the parking lot, the owner popped outside the door and wished us well and thanked us for coming. We travel quite extensively to run marathons and there are very few times when traveling and visiting places that you get a “feeling”; that you just feel so welcomed and a personal connection with a place. Tempt is one of those places. My family and I would make the trip from Tennessee just for this place. Please visit. You will not be dissapointed!
A+++++ Our experience from start to finish was fantastic! The staff were all friendly and knowledgeable. We had set up a reservation and arrived to a packed resturant. We assumed that we would need to wait for a table to clear, but were pleasantly suprised to see that they had actually reserved a table already for us! The meal was delicious, the wine was excellent and we loved the atmosphere. We plan on eating there everytime we visit the beach from now on!!!!
The food was decent, nothing to write home about. Had the fire tiger tail shrimp with a side of Rice and Thai aoili. The Oyster Rockefeller was delicious. The atmosphere was amazing. The fireplace kept my wife and I warm and the lighting was nice. The ambience set was very cozy. A little on the pricey side bit the portion size is good. Good place to go out on a date
Excellent small local bar in the north end off the boardwalk. We went and sat at the bar with some drinks (good pours) and listened to a great vocalist in which the acoustics still allowed you to maintain a conversation.
Having previously given an outstanding review from multiple great experiences, but not having dined at Tempt for several months, we were very disappointed. All three in our party received dinners that were mediocre, including selections we'd complimented before. My daughter's hamburger was largely tasteless, my flat iron steak overcooked and under-flavored and my spouse's nacho platter far below previous experiences. On the upside, the decor has been somewhat improved. Not sure we'll be back but maybe we caught the kitchen on a down night. Based on this visit, other area restaurants seem better choices. Very disappointed.
The food was okayish I suppose, but completely disappointing at this price range. I paid $24 for enchiladas that were nowhere near as good as what I could get for half that at a bunch of other restaurants. They weren't disgusting or anything, but I just don't think I would ever go back to pay twice as much for forgettable food.
