This was very good food. Really enjoyed how each cooking station is separate from the others. It helps be able to better interact with your chef and the others in your party. Our chef was very friendly and entertaining. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Was a little disappointed there was no salmon for hibachi but the quality and flavor of everything made it easy to overlook. Didn't try any sushi but others at the table seemed to really enjoy what they ordered. When I'm looking for hibachi I will be back here.

The food was good but everything else about this restaurant was not. We waited for approximately 30 minutes then was seated at our table. We watched the other tables for another 30-40 minutes to finally be asked what we would like to drink and requested we put our food orders in then. After ordering it took another 30 minutes for the chef to come out and prep the grill for cooking. Of course to keep up with the delays after the cooking was finished, and the cart was empty so was my plate. When the chef asked what I ordered he was confused since it was not on the cart and had to speak with the waitress. I had to wait for him to cook my food after everyone else was served and done eating. All in all we spent almost 3 hours here, two more than needed.I will never return to this place after the poor service and not even being approached by a manager or any staff about all of the issues we had.

Had a family outing to Sumo. The Chef was great and everyone's order was spot on. The streak was very tender and perfectly cooked. While I tend to stay away from Hibachi steak I will make it a point to go back just for thiers. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable and none of the group (7) went without drinks or refills. Highly recommend Sumo.

This is the place to come for the best entertainment one can find around… as long as you have Danny as your chef. He’s a comedian who makes the experience so enjoyable. The food is also fresh & with large portions. Everything was delicious including the sushi which is so fresh!!This place is a winner!!

We decided to try a new restaurant tonight. We had a small wait to get in, that was not a problem. Once we sat down and ordered it was almost an hour before our hibachi food came out. I myself am white and have a African American husband and three kids one of which is a baby. We were sitting with a white family. The waitress would not reach and hand us anything. She walked up and handed drinks to the white family. Then she stood on the other side of the grill and held our drinks to her body and would not hand them to us. It was so bad that the other family was angry about it. This happened with everything, our food, silverware, salad, soup. She also removed the white families dishes, but not ours almost the entire meal. She refilled our waters once but never refilled my kids sodas. The chef was great, I will say that. So our check seamed high. I went to add a tip. Keep in mind I always tip really well at hibachi because of the show. When I went to add the tip I noticed that an 18% gratuity had been added. This was not disclosed. I looked at the menu and it said for parties of 6 or more they do. We did not have six people and asked and was told by the hostess sometimes the server does this for convenience. I told her that was illegal without notice or approval. She offered to remove it. I said no, but I would have tipped significantly higher probably twice that had she not done that. I asked the white family on the way out if they did that to them, and they said they did not. I think she did it because of my families ethnicity. Really bad experience, I will never go there again. I would not recommend if you are not white. It’s too bad the chef is there he was always my favorite even when he worked at other places.

Second time ordering take out, placed order and gave it over an hour, like almost 2 hours to be honest. The food was not ready. They didn't plate it as ordered. A lot of the sushi was imitation, not fresh. Very disappointing considering the cost, I could go to Massake and get sushi that is fresh for the same price. I just feel for what you pay you should get more. I try to support small and local businesses but I will say that this might be a pass going forward.

Really good place with nice food, the chef did great and it wasn't as expensive as I thought. If you are planning to go on a weekend make sure you do reservations.

I haven't been to Sumo in over a decade. Just to put into perspective how long this place has been open. My son wanted to celebrate his 11th birthday dinner at a hibachi restaurant so I called to schedule reservations. My party and I arrived a few minutes early and were seated right away. We came on a Wednesday night and they were well staffed. They reserved a designated a room for my party. The rooms are not entirely private as the walls do not go up to the ceiling. It gives you a private yet open feeling which I prefer. The inside looks like it's been renovated in the recent years. It was pretty clean and minimalistic inside. Our waitress Melissa (spelled differently), was so sweet, attentative and offered great service. Our chef Petey, was so funny! He made a pun out of everything he was cooking. He was very talented behind the grill. It was true entertainment. He was a blast! Our service quality from the time I made my reservation to the time we received our check was superb. The food was delicious. We ordered appetizers, soups, salads, sushi, hibachi of all kind from chicken, filet mignon and shrimp. Even the price was reasonable. I was shocked by the bill considering I had 7 people who ordered a lot. I thought it was a great deal. They all came over a sang happy birthday to my son and gave him a dessert with candles. It was very cool. I don't remember if the dessert was on my bill but regardless I loved how all the staff came over to sing.Overall, this will be my go to spot for hibachi!

This isn't your regular restaurant! During your meal, the Hibachi chef will put on a show, performing cool tricks like the Onion Volcano.Expect to be amazed, have a great time, laugh, and leave with a full belly (and probably with leftovers too)!

Me and family were in town and wanted Hibachi on a whim, as soon as we stepped in we were greeted with great hospitality. The food was AMAZING and our server/bartender Malissa was phenomenal. If we are in town again this will definitely be a must have.
