Outstanding Italian food, I had the spaghetti with clams, very delicious, almost the same taste than when I was in Italy, the waitress was not so attentive, we sat at the bar, and the guy sitting next to us got her full attention, we were inexistent, but the owner came to the rescue and took good care of us.
Consistently THE BEST Italian food in Hampton Roads. And one of the best restaurants in Hampton Roads. See for yourself! And don't pay attention to some of the other reviews this place is fabulous. I'm a regular here and I've never been disappointed and I'm always pleasantly surprised.
NO KIDS allowed even though it is not stated on their website .I previously dined at this location with my whole family. 2 children were part of the dinner party and sat down on our laps because they did not own high chairs.Today we were going to make another reservation and the owner informed us that the children (who sat the whole time and ate their food quietly) misbehaved and certain customers complained.There was NOTHING to complain about being that they were on our laps the whole time.It was a shocking comment from the owner’s part.We feel that children are discriminated against at this location. If children are not allowed then we would have planned accordingly.A true Italian restaurant has good food but also knows the importance of being all together with family , children and adults .Needless to say , we will not be back.
I had initial doubts about this place when I initially made my first reservation given the voice mail reference to “playing phone tag” - not a professional way to welcome prospective guests. Children are obviously not welcome as they do not have high chairs - no indications online that children not welcome. A second attempt to reserve was denied because I wanted to include my grandchildren - not the standards of a true, Italian Restaurant that welcomes children of all ages without question. I have lived in Italy for 37 years, thus know what one should expect from a real Italian restaurant which is: great, fresh food, warm hospitality (unconditional) and fair prices, all of which can be found at the Il Pulcinella Restaurant.
We were pleasantly survived with attention to detail and the quality of our meals. Kelly did her best to take care of our needs ( much appreciated). The wine was wonderful, due all being calorie conscious we did not partake in any desserts, but plan to on our next visit.
Still turning out some of the most authentic Italian food in the area.

I love the food and ambiance at Sirena. We live in Texas and make a point to eat here every time we are back in VA visiting family. They have delicious Italian food, great wine, and always have fantastic, creative and fresh specials. Their pulled veal ragu over gnocchi is to die for! I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. I wish it was in Texas so we could eat here all the time!
