A couple of months ago, I would have given them 5-stars. Unfortunately, our most recent visit did not go so well. My wife think they should only get 2-stars but I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was an off day.The supposed “sushi rice” seemed to be be just plain rice and not even good rice. It had a strange odor to it. Like it wasn’t fresh. Can rice even become “not fresh”? Being an AYCE, the majority of the dishes are rolls and the rice just completely ruins it.Service left much to be desired. We had a big party (12) but they also automatically charged a 18% service charge so I expected at least decent service. Constantly brought wrong order or missing items. Didn’t know who had what. Basically just handed the table the dishes and let us figure it out. Rarely checked on us. Should not have to wait 15 minutes to order additional food.
All you can eat dinner menu is extensive - sashimi, sushi, rolls, and other stuff.Fish was really good quality especially for AYCE. Absolute banger - worth every penny!!!
Food was good, great variety. One roll had WAY too much rice. Second all you can eat order took forever to come out. Not a bad price, $26.95. Additional $1 for ice cream.
The lunch special price is great for an all you can eat to order. There's an up charge for uneaten food. The taste is great for people desiring to manage their sodium intake. Of course, you can add delicious sauces to make up for the missing instant flavors. The decor is beautiful and social distancing enforced. Great for social [email protected]
This place is AWESOME! The seafood soup is Delicious! And the Volcano Roll is the best Roll I've Ever Eaten! Teriyaki Shrimp, chicken and beef were All Outstanding, and the sauce were delicious. Definitely on my Places to Frequent!
Quick in & out sushi joint.Fast, fresh, & fantastic sushi & kitchen menu at affordable prices. The sushi is quality, the kitchen items come out made to order, and the service is alright. It was a busy Sunday afternoon & our waitress was a little terse, but have always loved it here other than this experience. I can't say enough about the food, both from the kitchen and the sushi bar. Give it a try if your in the area.
Great selection of food for lunch. My daughter and I have been coming here for years. Never had a bad meal. The price has gone up a little since COVID, but $2($15.95 for all you can order) extra is still a phenomenal deal considering the quality. I am constantly recommending this place to friends and family. The staff here are very friendly and attentive. If you're going for lunch, go early. It gets busy fast. If you love sushi and sashimi there isn't a better place in Hampton Roads at such a fair price. They also have a wide variety of Japanese cuisine on the menu. The dinner menu is much larger but a lot more expensive. About $10 more for all you can order.
My daughter and I went to Sakura Sushi restaurant for lunch. It was full to the brim with customers. Even though it was crowded we still received excellent service. At the time the menu was all you can eat for $15.00 .... it was worth the cost. We will be going back soon.
Not the greatest.... Sushi variety is "minimal" (pretty standard and nothing unique from every other general sushi restaurant) and the food didn't seem quite fresh. The spaces is cramped and loud, definitely not somewhere you go for a quiet date; if you do, prepare to have a shouting match to hear one another, or not talk at all due to the obsurd volume. For the price, you're better off elsewhere.
It's been a long time since I've eaten here, and the food is as good as I remembered. The dishes aren't super high quality, but they are pretty good. Better than most of the buffets I've been to in the area. The menu is plentiful, and they let you order more than 2 things at a time. Please, do yourselves 2 favors: try Sakura for yourself sometime; and don't go on a Friday or Saturday night. They are packed!
