I love Rita’s as a native Philadelphian. But the service is waaaaay too slow. This is my second time this week and I’ve waited in line for over 25 minutes each time! I’m actually in line writing this review. This is crazy! There is only 1 person working and it was the same way last night. I feel so bad for her. If you do not have the manpower you either should not open, or you should be here serving your customers with your employee. She looks completely exhausted!!
the Italian ice and custard was as good as it always was but the service was slow, we got there about 15 minutes before closing and the line was so long and the employees did not seem to be in a rush to help the customers. With three employees on we waited in line for about 30+ minutes and after we had ordered had to wait another 20 minutes before we got our chocolate custard in a cone. We stood by the window and watched as employees stood and texted on their phone and showed each other different things instead of making any customers ice/custard. once it had been a substantial amount of time one of the employees opened the window and asked if we were waiting on something which we responded yes, only a chocolate custard in a cone. This could have been a fluke night as they did still have a line past closing time and could have been training but we felt very forgotten.
Pros: My wife liked her twist cone and my daughter settled for frozen custard cotton candy, which she enjoyed. Cons: Poor/slow service, dirty/unkept (ice cream cone and napkins under the ice cream machine), vanilla custard wasn't available, four people working with one window open and it still took several minutes to attain our items (explains the line). Conclusion: Maybe just a bad night/moment for the Rita's team.
Have gone twice this season, both times received terrible service. The first visit the workers were on their phones and being rude to every customer, she also got our order wrong even after we said it 3 times. Tonight's visit was worse. Not busy at all, 4 workers working and didn't receive service as they were too busy carrying on with their own conversations. After finally receiving service, first they had to come back after processing my order and ask what size, flavor and type I wanted (cone or cup) and second they got our order wrong again. Won't be going back this season.
Went today while it was raining and once when it wasn't too busy. Terrible service both times. The first time a worker was on her phone rather than helping customers and didn't get our order correct. This time, even though there were 4 workers, they were more interested in their own conversations rather than helping customers. When we did get service our order was wrong again. Won't be going back this season.
Very long line on a hot day. Only one person working the entire store. Service was moving slowly. Over 50 minutes was the approx wait. We wanted to try the custard but not stand in line for a long period. The only time the line moved was when customers got fed up from waiting and decided to bail. We left as well and doubt we will return to this location.
Great Custard! Go during off peak times. Expect 1/2 hour waits during peak hours.
Excellent service, and a great product... My only beef is certain crews work better than others...
i been to that place since it was first open i missed living off shore dr Virginia Beach is always going to be my home and i been going to Rita's since i was 8 year old. I need to go back to visit there.
Always a good experience, excellent staff and customer service. Only problem is that they don't have wild black cherry as a flavor at all times!!
