I order a 1/2 sheet cake. At over a $120.00 I expected a beautiful cake. It was decorated sparsely. When I picked up the cake it was cracked down the middle. After waiting 25 minutes they refrosted same cake. At the event when I started to slice the whole bottim layer was cracked in many pieces making it impossible to serve a nice slice. I was embarrassed. I have gone to this bakery for over 5 decades and never received this poor of quality. I will never go back which is sad because the cake was moist and delicious.
ive been getting desserts here ever since i was young! even the smell of the bakery is worth every penny! i love the pettifor cakes, rainbow sugar cookies, and obviously the ginger bread
Seriously disappointed since the new owners took over. The prices have gone up and the quality down. I called and ordered a pregnancy reveal cake. I asked for it to be 1/2 sheet cake, 4th of July themed, asked for reds and blues and some rockets and fireworks drawn on… you know… 4th of July themed. I asked for them to write “Red, White and DUE (asked specifically to emphasize the DUE), leave space for me to add an ultrasound pic and then write November 2022”. What I picked up was so plain, so underwhelming, and DEFINITELY not worth 85.00. I could have gotten a prettier cake from the Walmart case and had them write on it for free, a lot cheaper. Since my party was next day; I had to go to hobby lobby and pick up decorations to add to the cake myself for another 20.00. I will NOT be back. First picture is the plain disappointment I picked up, second picture is what I did myself to try and salvage it.
This place made my sisters baby shower cake it was supposed to be ombré the cake smelled like crayons we asked for no almond flavor and it was almond instead of vanilla the icing was gritty this cake was wayyy over priced and none of us liked the cake ! I will NEVER buy from here againYou can see all the cracks in the cake and there sorry attempt at ombré
The inside update is adorable and the almond cake and petit fours are still just as delicious as always. This is my go to cake destination. (The brownies are also rich and yummy!)
Stopped in passing thru town, super nice people! Purchased a crème filled donut,cheese danish and a latte all were very tasty!
Ordered a birthday cake for my daughter she didn’t like the taste of the almond cake . it brought it back they were very polite and attentive and gave us a store credit very satisfied with their customer service
Plaza has been making our birthday cakes for more than 25 years. It is so sad that the new owners do not take pride in their customer service or sweets. I went in yesterday. Customer service was non-existent. Petit-four was $1.99 & was the size of a quarter. They were not helpful or accommodating at all. Don’t be fooled by the name. It’s not Plaza Bakery anymore.
I've been coming for 20 years to Plaza and have had no issues until about a year ago when new owners took over. Not only did the prices skyrocket, so did customer service and quality. I ordered a gender reveal cake, sent in a picture...they said they could do it. I went to pick it up and it was horrible...components missing from the design, the colors were way off, design looked like a child made and placed the stars...I was told "it's because you ordered a bigger cake" first picture is what I wanted vs what I got.
What a disappointment! The bakery has very few items to buy. I bought a brownie, 2 cream horns, and a cream puff for almost $15! The brownie was ok (REALLY sweet), the cream in the cream horns tasted like perfumed plastic, and the cream puff had the same gross cream inside instead of the normal custard. Needless to say, I will not be going back.
