I am very picky when it comes to good Mexican food. Most places in VA do not have great Mexican food as let say in the South West, but Plaza is a good compromise. Their guacamole is pretty amazing and its a go to of mine. The staff is always friendly and I always have a great time visiting. The food is above average for the area, but beware, if you are used to some real Mexican food, this may not satisfy you 100%, but still worth many visits. This in my book is one of the best local Mexican joints!
The waiter misunderstood my order came out with the wrong food. When I said that's not what I ordered he said yes you did and I have to get my manager. The manager came out was very very rude at this establishment. He said let me guess it's his fault. You can't just change your mind and order something else. What do you want me to do serve this to someone else. Next time you will have to pay for it. Did not want to be rude because I could not understand their English. He was blaming me for him getting the order wrong. I can take my hard-earned money and spend it elsewhere. The manager really needs to take a class on customer service. It amazes me how people don't like us but love us to spend our money with them. Food is okay but don't spend our money where we're not celebrating at. Went to another Mexican restaurant and had a great time. The one that's out side of lynnhaven Mall go there!
I have eaten here several times over the years as it was always my favorite. However I was disappointed in my recent visit. First we ordered cheese dip and it came not hot or even fully melted. Then it took what seemed like forever to get our food...the waitress even came over and remarked that she was going to check on our food even though we didn't ask. Then after our entrees came out we never saw our waitress again. We never got checked on. There was virtually nobody there so it wasn't an issue of being busy. We had an appt to be at but we knew we wanted a fried ice cream. But nobody came back until a nice waiter finally came over (he may have seen me looking around). He came to get our dishes I asked if we could get a to-go box and a fried ice cream and the bill since we thankfully had enough time. The nice young man obliged us and we packed our leftovers and ate our fried ice cream. The waiter took our card brought back the bill and explained that his friend would be getting the tip. I was perplexed as to how the entire visit went to be honest. I asked him did't he share it since ge helped us when we had seemed to have been forgotten. But he said no. I just wasn't impressed with the new method of operatikn compared to how it seemed to be all times prior. Not a very friendly or upbeat atmosphere like in the days of past.
They are some very rude and disrespectful people. The waiter Douglas was very rude and felt like he had had to tell us he couldn’t take the stress right now.. The assistant manager kept waving us off saying that he didn’t want to talk and when he did he had a problem with doing anything… we told him how salty the food was. I WILL NEVER GO THERE EVER AGAIN…. That isn’t the first time the food came out nasty. I don’t care if you had a long day that’s what you signed up for your supposed to put out 1,000000 percent regardless
Two of us ate at Plazas Azteca on Holland Road a couple of weeks ago. Service was great and our waiter constantly checked on us to see if we needed anything. Especially love their white sauce that you get with chips as soon as you sit down. The food was delicious! We had Nachos Supreme for an appetizer. Then we both had Fajitas for our main course. Yummy! The only downfall was the margarita I had. It tasted very bland. Other than that we enjoyed our meals and will definitely be going back!
Will never go back here. Bad service , ready to leave and the “owner” decided to make it like I was the reason.I am a very laid back person , but I order a Margarita the waiter didn’t come back to offer a refill or water nothing another person brought the food, I asked him to ask my waiter to come by. Hour of sitting with no drink. Once he decide to come back it was to bring the check. It’s sad I used to love this place but after 4 visits of bad service and even worse ownership… I will not go back and tell all my friends to stay away.Why support a place with a manager that yells at a customer in front of people in the restaurant…. I didn’t raise my voice… I just wish someone had it on video so people could see.
Food was Great! Service was a little slow. Made my sons food wrong and didn't want to remake it. They eventually did though.
Service was great but I always feel Mexican food is ready way to fast....can't give an honest opinion. Drinks were lacking....
The Chori Pollo was fantastic. The menu is huge and the portions are large, and in addition the staff were very friendly and quick to refill the chips and drinks. Great experience!
It's my favorite go-to restaurant because they never disappoint! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!! THANK YOU ??
