Chinese Szechuan Dim Sum

We went to Peter Chang for lunch when it was not very busy. I was quite impressed with everything - the service, the quality of ingredients, the recipes, and the skill of the kitchen. I can think of two Chinese restaurants in our area worthy of my five stars. Their regional style is different, and I suspect I'll be driving the extra couple miles to revisit Peter Chang's unique high quality.

Mediocre overall. The hot and sour soup was great! It has a nice tang and was full of mushrooms and veg. The fried rice was lukewarm, flavorless and dry, but did have chunks of carrots and a few peas. The chicken and mushroom was ok, but SUPER greasy. You can see the grease in the photo. Again, only lukewarm, but did have nice mushrooms. The spring roll was downright old. Pretty expensive for ok food.

We started with the crispy pork belly. So good! Battered and deep fried. Love it. The main course was the sweet and sour red snapper. We ordered the 2 pound. It was amazing. Hardly any bones and so good. Not too sweet or sour. So Authentic and the beef was so good as well. Almost like Mongolian beef. It was so tender and tasty. The beef is number 51 on the menu. Overall the restaurant is amazing. They also serve dim sum.

This was our first visit to Peter Chang in VAB. However, we've been to and have enjoyed Peter Chang in RVA; so this review is bacled by more than this one visit. We had all three of our favorites today: Bamboo Fish, Szechuan Dan Dan Noodles with Beef, and Three Peppers with Chicken. Wonderful service - friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff. If you like Szechuan cuisine, you cannot beat Peter Chang - in Virginia Beach, Richmond, or northern Virginia.

Our food was fantastic. Our waitress was Awesome. She was very knowledgeable about all the foods and she explained the items in a very friendly tone. Due to her expertise we were able to try new dishes. We enjoyed our time there. We recommend this restaurant highly.

Reading the reviews - clearly many folks don't recognize or appreciate "real" sichuan or real Chinese food from the junk that generally gets passed off for it in most US restaurants. I enjoyed the carry out option - and was pleasantly surprised by the value of the meal. Grandma's noodle were good; the hunan 3 peppers with pork was terrific. Would have loved to have had a bigger party to try the mapo dofu, double cooked pork, gong bao chicken........

I always love going here to eat. The staff is always very friendly, and the food is excellent. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and kept clean. The menu is fairly large, with a great selection of traditional Chinese, American Chinese, and even family recipes. There is probably something for everyone on that menu.I definitely recommend starting off with a scallion bubble pancake. Between that and the (not spicy at all) green curry dipping sauce, you should be of to an amazing meal.

It's regrettably been a while since my last visit but I was quickly reminded of the fresh & delicious flavors of Peter Chang's!! I enjoyed the Wonton Soup & Hot and Sour soup. Really enjoyed the Salt & Pepper Calamari and the Minced Chicken Lettuce Wraps! Highly recommend a visit

Okay, here it is. I LOVE THIS PLACE! I HAD THE CRISPY PORK BELLY APPETIZER AND IT WAS A M A Z I N G! When I took the first bite I was in LOVE with this place. Katy had the duck stir fry and I had the Beef with asparagus and snow peas. The presentation was great! A true sit down Chinese restaurant. The food was fresh, the service was great, the place was beautiful in it's authenticity. NO fast food here! If anybody wants a great meal, go here. This is not one of those buffett places. I give two energetic thumbs up! Katie and I can't wait to take friends and family! Truly Superior!

Great sit-down restaurant with many traditional dishes and American Chinese dishes. Had the tea-smoked duck, crispy skin and all. Friendly, attentive staff.
