Very disappointed. Now they used breaded chicken, like those frozen nuggets/ ready made, and add whatever sauces you ordered. I ordered a honey glazed chicken, my friends order general tsao. Both came as the same ready made nuggets, horrible taste nuggets, just the sauces are different. Then a fried beef noodles. It cost almost $20 dollars a dish, but the portion was so small and there was about less than 5 pieces of beef. I used to love to go here. Inflation may legitimate for them to jet up the price, but the quality and quantity is going down the hill. No next time for me.
I came here with a party of 10 (5 adults and 5 kids including a 8mos old baby). We didn't make reservations so this place does take walk ins. The manager, most likely the owner, was arranging and setting up our table right away. I did have to wipe down the high chair before sitting my baby in it as it was a bit sticky, which was a bit ughh for me.The food was not bad. Certain dish was just alright, certain dish was pretty good. We thought the lamb was pretty good. The beef was not bad. The tea duck was a little disappointing to us. The portion is average, not too big. We also ordered a chicken noodle for the 4 kids, which was a good portion to split among 4 kids. There is a meal tax and a sale tax here. Tax alone already $20 or so.
This was our first time eating here, as we’d read some great reviews on the 757 Food FB page. We tried the hot & sour soup, wonton soup, pork dumplings, the chicken with Yu-Shiang sauce and the shrimp with mixed veggies. I loved the hot & sour soup—spicy than most! My wife said the wonton soup broth was bland, but the actual wontons were great. The pork dumplings were probably our favorite part of the meal—large & homemade! My chicken dish was sweeter than I’d hoped for, but this was my first time eating Yu-Shiang sauce (I’ll probably try something different next time). My wife liked the shrimp dish, but a little Spicy for her. All in all, the food was pretty good. And, the service was good and the food was hot/fresh! We’d probably come back.
First experience was more then I expected. The place was very well put together. The decor was very comfortable. Felt relaxed with ample lighting.I was already told by my daughter about the spice and the beautiful tasty dumplings.I wished to try the peppered fish and asked if it was really spicy heat wise, the lady suggested the black pepper fish for me, less heat. Both were so good.We also got a few other items. The smoked duck, a first for me also. Crispy and moist with a very good seasoning. And again, could not believe what I had been missing. We were brought portions enough for a family of all the items we ordered. I had thought it was just for me. There were Lazy Susan's serving displays on most of the tables which added a more relaxed and sharing type of an experience for the family.I could say more, but I need to have their menue in front of me to say the correct names of the dishes to do them justice. I will go back to try dishes that looked good to me like the varieties of bean curd/tofu dishes they offered just to name one.
This is among the best and most authentic Sichuan food in VA Beach. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Hard to believe such a great restaurant is tucked into a strip mall, the ambiance is OK, but every thing else makes up for it.
The Sichuan pepper steamed chicken in hot oil cold appetizer was so good but we ordered it mild but it was soooo spicy because Sichuan cuisine is spicy ? But we started with that so we couldn’t taste any of the food that came after! So order it just eat it last cause it’s so flavorful! … the vegetable dumplings were okay the dipping sauce gave them amazing flavor the lo mein is great! And the PORTIONS are HUGE! It’s defs family style! And it’s very affordable!
Love this place!Authentic Chinese food... So delicious.Great comfort food.Best soup dumplings I've found in Virginia Beach.Very good cashew chicken.Nice fresh veggies.Recommended to those looking for real Asian cuisine.
I visited Judy's with two friends tonight. It was our first time, but knowing the reviews we were excited for the experience. We arrived a little before 6. There was a good crowd of people seated but it was definitely not at capacity. We had a reservation and were seated right away. This is when the evening started to go south. It took roughly ten minutes for them to ask us what we wanted to drink and another ten for them to take our order. After a while one of the waitresses comes by and delivers an entree to one of my friends. It came with rice, but rice was not put on the table. We also found it odd that all three of our entrees were not delivered at the same time, but we waited patiently to see if the rest of the meals showed up. At least 15 min went by and nothing. The waitress didn't even bother to fill our water glasses. One of my friends called a waitress over to the table. It wasn't until that exchange that the rest of the meal suddenly showed up. One of the entrees was completely incorrect and mine was missing requested additions. The food also had little flavor. We eventually had to ask a waitress for the check, since it was very apparent our table was being completely ignored. It took at least 15 minutes to get the bill, pay, and leave, because the wifi was down. At least they gave us fortune cookies. After this experience, I'm completely confused as to why the restaurant is so highly rated. I will not be going back nor will this place be recommended to anyone.
Great food and friendly staff. Not to pricey and you definitely get your money's worth.
Judy's is one of my favorite restaurants! I am a regular, and the food is consistently awesome. Get ready for staples like you've never experiences, plus awesome Sichuan cuisine you've never had before. Get the Dan Dan, Sichuan cold noodles, Wontons in hot chili oil, and diced chicken w/ chili pepper!! I went in on my birthday last week, and the wait staff must have heard me talking to my friends in passing...they brought out a mini bottle of wine as a present! Love love love Judy's Sichuan!
