The food was delicious. We were seated right away. Food came out quick. Waiter was attentive. But I’m knocking a star off for the flies. They had a door propped open, and I’m not sure if it was due to broken AC or what but it was letting in all the flies and we spent most of our meal swatting them away. I only ate half my meal and boxed the rest up to eat at home because of it. Hopefully this was just a one time issue because like I said I really loved my food and wouldn’t mind trying this place again but I can’t do the fly thing.
The menu said that they were $5.99 and piece or two for 10.99. I was charge for each individually at $5.99 because I didn't order two of the same kind. The serve said that the burritos would have had to be the same item though they were both options under the same listing. This was not specified on the menu nor by the server.I don't eat meat so I order a bean burrito believing that it would be a "black bean" burrito and I was not expecting the potato burrito to have mashed potatoes in it. I requested to get to black bean and rice burritos instead and because I moved the refried bean burrito to condense the two big plates I received, the manger said that because I had eaten one I couldn't get two replacement. I told not to worry about it because I didn't want to cause a scene and I let the serve take the plate back. The manager never verified that the refried bean burrito was folded over which happen when I moved it over. Not to mention that I asked for no sour cream and received plain lettuce and I added salsa to it. So, I paid for the meal and went to Taco Bell. I believe this could have been handled better or the communication could have been clear. Not to mention the sever rushed me to pay and didn't bring a to go plate for my guest.
The service was amazing and the food was not only delicious but served in HUGE portions. I had just moved into my new home and the ice didn't have time to freeze so I asked our waiter if I could purchase some ice there. He was so kind and returned to our table with a bag of ice and seemed so happy to help. My friend and I agreed we would make Jose Tequilas Mexican Grill a monthly ritual. Thanks for the great staff and wonderful food and dining experience.
It's an OK place if you want some drinks (which are good) or something that resembles Mexican food, but don't expect much...filthy place, chipped plates, dirty salsa bowls and glasses, steam table food that comes out in 5 minutes so you know it's all pre-cooked. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Parking lot and outdoor seating area is filthy. I'd maybe go back for a few beers, but definitely not the food.
The food was excellent and the wait staff was very funny and accommodating to our picky eater. The food was outstanding and you get a healthy plate full of food for sure. Would visit them again on our next trip
Good food. Good service. Fun atmosphere.
For the location on Lynnhaven parkway by Home Depot and Walgreens across from Walmart. It has a great atmosphere and the wait staff is very polite and attentive. I would recommend this location to everyone.
We have patronized this restaurant one to two times weekly since it opened. We have not been there since before Christmas until last night. The service has deteriorated and you cannot get a correct order. Tried again last night and again the orders were incorrect. I love the location but service is very inconsistent. Looking for a New Mexican restaurant.
Literally been waiting 45 minutes for our online order of —ONE quesadilla. I get they are swamped on a Friday night but then change your online order times so we’re not waiting an extra 30 minutes….and counting. We ordered at 6:50pm, said it’d be ready by 7:05, and we got it at 7:35pm. Let me repeat, the entire order was one quesadilla. The phone number listed on your site also doesn’t work—otherwise I’d have called. I’ve seen people come into the restaurant, eat, and get out faster than this online order. Nope.
Ordered Ceviche Tropical. It tasted like it has been refrigerated for days. I informed the assistant manager and asked if it was fresh. He told me that's the way they do it. Cilantro was dissolving and onion soft. Assistant manager had an attitude and took ceviche back, didn't offer a menu, when we asked for refill he snapped the cups. No apologies offered, charged incorrectly. I lost my appetite
