Jen Thai Cuisine in Virginia Beach has a nice, clean, welcoming atmosphere and a polite server, I ordered pork with Thai fried rice. With a dash of curry, some surachi, and sprinkles of soy sauce, I had a spicy, yet flavorful experience. I also ordered a soup with a combination of shrimp, coconut, and vegetables. Even though the soup is warm it's also very creamy and very soothing in regards to the previous spicy meal. Overall, a wonderful experience!
Out of all the thai places I've enjoyed, this is my favorite. First, the food is first rate, fresh, tasty, beautifully presented. The service is great. Priced just right!
Excellent food and wonderful service! For the last several moths, this has become our weekly go-to restaurant for date night. The food is always perfectly cooked, delicious flavors, and an incredible selection of vegan options. We've ordered delivery from here too and the food was still hot by the time it arrived. Highly recommend!
This is a lovely family owned restaurant with authentic Thai food. The green curry is amazing as well as the drunken noodles. They will make it very spicy if you like the heat! Great local place!
Ordered from here today and got the pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, and Massaman Curry. It was ready quick and I took it home. I'm vegan and specifically requested a vegan meal. Even made sure they knew what vegan meant, which they assured me they did. The rice and pad Thai looked delicious but unfortunately, once we separated our portions there was egg in both. They admitted they made aMistake and offered to replace the food when I call and even threw in an order of eggs rolls. Which normally would have me bump my review up. Once we got the second portions. We took a look and found the portions to be smaller and the food did not looked cooked correctly (rice was almost yellow, missing the raisins, and cashews, pad Thai was red and almost had a tomato taste). Both of those items tasted bland. My guess is they remade them in a hurry and didn't cook them with any seasoning. The Massaman curry was great though and the eggs rolls were okay. But that doesn't make up for the mistake and the gross second round of food we got.
Very good food. Loved the fish dish(sorry forgot the dish name?)
Cool and rainy evening called for some spicy food and Thai food was our choice. This was the first time trying out Jen Thai so we weren’t sure what to expect. Ordered steamed dumplings, green curry and pad thai with shrimp. The dumplings were tasty but a bit hard so hopefully they can improve this item. Green curry and the pad thai was phenomenal. Loved the pad thai presentation. The guy serving us was very polite and gentle and that added positive vibes to the overall experience. Will definitely recommend this place to others and will go back another time.
I have been a couple of times before and found the food and service to be great. My Mother has never been and wanted to try we both got Paid Thai chicken. The lunch special are plentiful. We'll be back.
Tried several of their dishes since 2019, and so far the Pad Thai Woon Sen ($14.95) is the least of our faves, it tasted like metal from the pan where they cooked it from, and way too sweet! The thin slices of beef tasted funky as well, gamey.Even their beef curry ($14.95) tasted too watered down, bland hiding in sweetness while the Thai basil and bell peppers were the only good thing in this beef curry dish that was good. The seafoods combo in curry ($26.50) had few tiny pieces of chopped squid, 4-5 pcs. peeled tiny shrimps, mini marshmallows sized 5-6 pcs. of scallops, tiny pieces of fish meats, is way overpriced for the taste and overall value of their dish! The curry helped masked the unfreshness of their seafoods, while the dish was bombarded more with onions, bell peppers, it was more like veggie combo not seafood.Beer was chilled, but for 1 small bottle of beer for $5.00 is overpriced!Gave it 2 stars for the service rendered, for the value and quality of the foods served, and for making excuses instead of apologizing to the paying customer who isn't happy with the taste of the food. That metallic rusty taste & sweetness wasn't good. And the toilet paper is so thin that I had such a hard time trying to get some while in a hurry to get out of the restroom that smelled like raw sewage! First time experience sitting in this restaurant, not good.
Quaint little spot for a midweek outing with friends or date night. Hot & delicious if you like Thai food. Worth a try.
