Beef empanadas were outstanding. Very authentic PR food. Great service all around. Be patient and enjoy life at Latin speed. It’s worth it!!

Great place, great atmosphere.. Just expensive compared to the other Rican Chef

Too hot, took forever to take orders. Food was super salty.

The outdoor area wasn’t open on a Friday evening which was a little disappointing. Sitting inside you’d expect it to be nice and cool but it was very hot, the poor employees were fanning themselves. The food, drinks and service was wonderful.

Note to the chef: - The pastelillos were overcooked, burned on the corners. - The guava sangria didn’t taste well, the mix was separated and a bit acidic. Everything else was Excellent!

We had an outstanding dinner at De Rican. The food was fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend!

I went with my partner and we were 10 minutes standing in front of the host table and no one took care of us, so we decided to leave.

I was very much looking forward to visiting this new venue as I am from Puerto Rico and my family and I enjoy frequenting the original restaurant and eating authentic food, but was disappointed. A photo advertising the restaurant shows a water scene. This is not a waterfront establishment. The boardwalk is blocks away. When we received our food, we were surprised to see the fillings in both my husband and my mofongos were sauceless and dry--nothing like what we are used to in the original restaurant. De Rican Chef is known for their delicious mofongos, so this was completely unexpected. Needless to say we did not finish the mofongos because they were too dry. To top it off, there was a large group of inebriated guests screaming at each other in the back of the restaurant and it sounded like a fight was about to break out. They kept stumbling past our table, shouting back and forth, and this did not make for a pleasant dining experience during an early Sunday dinner, We could not hear each other, or the music, over their shouts. Our tab came with what they said was an automatic 18% surcharge, but it was actually a little over 20% and the server suggested we add more to the tip. While I will keep supporting the original restaurant, I am afraid I will not be returning to this location.

Excellent food and friendly service. The new restaurant is beautiful. It’s been more than ten years since I lived in Puerto Rico and my dinner brought back lots of delicious memories of my time there. I’ll definitely be back. Gracias!
