This place honestly deserves 20 stars! Amazing experience and food! From the second we walked in, we were greeted so warmly with a big smile and the best customer service. The pork platter was SO GOOD! Most tender and flavorful pork I’ve ever had. I got the smoked baked beans and potato salad and there was not a drop left. I can’t say enough good things. I will 100% be back!!
Really great baked beans and potato salad!!!! The brisket was very tasty but I would've preferred less fat. And I didn't take too well to the jalapeno and cheese sausage. Overall very good experience. I hope to be back to try other items on the menu. Sort of pricey, but worth the price for the quality of BBQ (compared to other local BBQ restaurants)
This place deserves the high praises that it's been receiving. I had a two meat plate with brisket, pulled chicken, baked beans and potato salad, with banana pudding for dessert . The seasoning was on point, everything on my plate tasted good and was cooked to perfection. In my opinion the banana pudding would be better with a graham cracker crust for added texture, but that's a minor thing. If you're in the Virginia Beach area and craving barbeque, check this place out.
Literally the best BBQ on the east coast, and would go toe-to-toe with anything in Texas. I got the rib tips, pulled pork, jalapeño cheddar sausage, baked beans, and EZ slaw.I have NEVER tasted better baked beans in my life. And if they’re doing the beans right, you know the meat is great!! I’m coming back for more for sure.
This is really good reasonably priced bbq. Lots of options. Meats can be ordered in 1/4 pound increments or as combos. Small desserts are available for between $2-$3 at the time of this review, which I loved. The Seating is limited inside but the place was clean and well run. Stay away from big bbq chains and check out Dave’s, you won’t be disappointed.
Dave's is quite possibly the best BBQ in Hampton Roads! The staff is super kind and helpful. The portions are very generous! Brisket is rich and perfectly balanced between savory and smokey. The pulled pork doesn't need a single drop of sauce - it's juicy and satisfying 'naked'. But they do have their own delicious sauces which pair nicely with all their meats. Unlike most BBQ places, the vegetable sides are not lame and soggy, but are zesty and worthy in their own right - with distinctive flavor that you will remember. Although a little out of the way, definitely recommend trying Dave's! Great for lunch carry out, or ordering a bigger batch for an event.
Best BBQ ever. We moved to VAB 2 years ago and have been looking for our 'BBQ place' the entire time. The Pandemic only made this more difficult.My favorites (so far) Lean Brisket, Smoked Turkey, Chipotle Slaw, Pulled Chicken.Looking forward to our first visitors of 2022 in next few weeks to order more!
***TRUE BBQ FLAVORS***I got the 2 meat platter, pulled pork with corn bread and smoked beans, this Meal did not disappoint, very delicious, you can taste every flavor all the way down to the sweet smoke and wood they used. I'm Happy I found this place!--HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL TO TRY!!!
I can't say it loud enough or brag to enough people about how good this BBQ is. It's the 1st place I'll bring an out-of-town quest. I've lived on 4 continents and all throughout the States: THERE IS NOTHING THAT COMES CLOSE! I love everything on the menu. Keep doing what you're doing - customer for life! I'd give it 100 ⭐️!
Moving from TX to VA I love to find BBQ joints. We came across this place via Trip Advisor and boy does it NOT disappoint. The portions are HUGE! Great tasting BBQ and unbelievable prices. We will for sure continue to come back. Their customer service is also excellent. I highly recommend getting the meat sampler so you can try all the meats but also can never go wrong with just a brisket sandwich. The spicy slaw was also amazing!
