Favorite brunch spot. Food quality and menu rivals Bee & Biscuit but without the hassle of an insane wait time or valet parking. Everything is made from scratch, portion sizes are reasonable rather than monstrous, and do not pass up the butternut squash donut holes. They come with a maple butter sauce, they are spectacular!
Very comfortable and inviting atmosphere. The steak rolls were pretty good. The ribeye had a little too much fat for me but it was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Erica was amazing and the kitchen staff got the food out really fast. I only wish I had 2 sides instead of just one. Highly recommend!
Outstanding everything!! Since Covid, I have unfortunately gotten used to lackluster service and food when eating out. I'm thrilled to say that was not the case tonight. Even though our wonderful server wasn't at our table immediately, the hostess brought us glasses of water. I wish so badly I could remember server's name (I want to say Katie but am doubting myself - black shoulder length hair and glasses) because she was superb. My friend and I shared apps and meals. The scallops on Mexican street corn was delicious. Absolutely loved the fried green tomatoes - the fresh slices of mozzarella really made the dish stand out. We had the chicken sandwich with Brie and Granny Smith apple - fantastic. Steak rolls were fine- sauce with them was the best part. Will definitely be back. It was so refreshing to have good food AND good service the same night.
I'd give it 3.5 stars if possible, but since half stars aren't possible, 3 stars is what I rated.REALLY good food, but smaller portion sizes, making it rather expensive for menu items. Like, they charge normal restaurant prices for about 1/3 less food. If you came hungry, you will find yourself having to buy at least 2 menu items to feel full.The drinks are also great, but the selection is really limited, like they had about 7 specialty drinks and 8 beer choices, mostly bottled that you can buy at the store, and a few wines. That was basically your options.This is a place to go to have a "place to go" where the food is good and there are trendy, tasty drinks, but you should expect to spend a pretty penny, so if you're on a budget, I'd come full, at least that way you only pay for drinks.If you are looking for bang for your buck, or a place to spend a lot of time or become a regular at, this isn't the place for you. Because you will easily spend between $30-50 a person if you have both drinks and food.Overall, I'd like food prices that reflect the average in a restaurant, or at least portion sizes to match the prices. For something like chips and buffalo cheese dip, it was $10 and there was a handful of chips and a bowl of cheese sauce that was half full. Also, I think there could have been more variety for the drinks.I really want to love Civil Libation, but it just isn't price justifiable for what you get, so I just can't go there often enough to like it.
Really good food with decent vegan options (the squash rings with chipotle dip were so good I was shocked), delicious drinks and a nice lil Happy Hour to boot. Will definitely be returning!
Visited at the soft opening and was not impressed. Finally came back a week or so ago and it was awesome. The food was good the drinks were perfect and Erica made our visit complete. Decided to return and the food and drinks were still good but the service was whatever. Couldn't get a second drink or anything else for that matter. Moral of the story, ask for Erica I guess.
Our food was great and drinks were delicious. Our waitress was kind and prompt. Even other waitresses came and helped as well! Super impressed and would love to go back for more drinks!
Stopped in when we were running errands from Williamsburg and what a gem! Husband claims these were the best chicken and waffles around! Wonderful brunch coffee cocktails also! Staff was extremely welcoming and cared about our experience. We will be back for sure!

Great specialty drinks…loved tasting edible rose petals. Delinda owns this hidden treasure as well as the Whiskey kitchen…which is nearby. Enjoyed the tuna on blue corn nacho chips. I had a wonderful server… Molly, if memory serves. She knew all the best drinks and appetizers and has the perfect personality for the service industry….most patient and kind.
