I went to dinner with my family to Catch 31. We had cocktails, appetizers, and dinner. Everything was delicious. I especially liked the crab artichoke dip. The only negative was that there were a lot of shell pieces in our oysters on the half shell. The atmosphere is very nice. We actually went another day to have an early dinner. I would recommend if you are in Virginia Beach to visit this restaurant.
Had a wonderful meal at this restaurant. The crab cakes were the highlight. Recommend sitting outside on the beach side. Our server Robert was awesome.
Great service, drinks, and food! The bathroom wasn't real tidy or functional, but we enjoyed the meal. Definitely would go back!
Although our waitress initially present as friendly and attentive, her table service was terrible. Slow service from the kitchen meant food was room temp and NOT HOT. To make matters worse, this was at 1:30-1:45 or so when we sat down; the lunch rush was over / ending. In fact the waitress offered that she wasn't that busy. Why then was the service so poor. On leaving the restaurant I complained to the hostess desk and another person from the table sought out the manager AND gave a cash gratuity to the bus-boy who tried to help us by seeking out the waitress for things he was unable to do. I was going to leave 0 gratuity but thought the poor person might have rent to pay so I left a tiny something; 4% was even too much. I will never willingly go back to this restaurant. Food: too expensive for the portion size and quality. Service: terrible; next time buzz my cell, I'll go get our own plates.
We had a wonderful time! The restaurant beach vibe was amazing, they had the doors open so there was ventilation in the restaurant, people were seated away from each other and it was comfortable to take masks ? off! Food was good. I did NOT enjoy my crab cakes but my Aunt’s (seen in pic) fish tacos were delish! We did make our own side - sweet potato truffle Parmesan fries ?….delish!!! Appreciated the valet parking and got to spend time at the oceanfront taking in the breeze in their rocking chairs. There was no rush to leave even though it was a holiday weekend.
Lauren H. was our bartender at Catch31. She was wonderful. She mixed our drinks to perfection even training another employee how to make a drink that tasted awesome. Dennis Jove was also very attentive and knowledgeable on the surrounding area helping us feel comfortable and stress free.
The food was good. The service was very poor. Our waitress Jessica was not attentive, she barely spoke to us. We were sat without menus and it just went down from there. Drinks were dropped off and not a word was said. I had to get up and take silverware off another table. Steak was served and we had to hunt down another waitress for a steak knife. She did not come by to see if our food was ok. For the level of restaurant I really just expect better. It was overall a very disappointing experience. The manager never came by our table to check on us either.
Yummy food. We got the coconut shrimp as our entrees and it didn’t disappoint. The bar was backed up and it took 15min to get our specialty cocktails but they were good. The food runners never brought out my husbands salad and we got entrees before it came, so the waitress was a little flustered when asked to take it off our bill but it wasn’t her fault. Outdoor seating looks fun with fire tables. Overall, tasty food and Samatha was a great server. Would definitely go back.
**Dinner Great! **Breakfast Nah...***Came for dinner and it was super packed. We were informed that while waiting for our table if the bar area becomes free we could just go sit there. This turned into a musical chair game trying to secure a free spot with other guests. But after about 20 minutes we were seated. Waiter was awesome, dinner was very good! Fresh seasoned well, hot delicious. The drinks were OMG! We enjoyed ourselves so much we figured we come for breakfast.Nope nope nope! The staff was friendly but the food was very bland I had to double check to see if this was the same place from the night before. We ordered basic stuff too! The most upsetting part of our breakfast was the pancakes. The pancakes broke apart like sand, indicating it was missing a binder EGGS!!! The taste wasn't great either. My guess is that there must be a different kitchen crew for breakfast and dinner because sheesh what a difference.
Mother’s Day brunch…need to have a special Mother’s Day brunch in my opinion. Service was fantastic though. Surprised to see Salacia’a closed as hoping something like Eddie V’s comes in and fills it. Thanks for a great lunch!
