** To your response. I am not from the area and I had heard from a friend about the restaurant and we decided to give it a try. It was not 12 of us and we just asked a question there was need to be rude, but you reply supports my review.Treating others with respect is still the same in 1999 and in 2022..Horrible attitude from the person in the back. Very rude!!!!! We asked if they had Cuban sandwich today, his like it's 2022 you can check the menu before coming in or you can go to the McDonald's across the street!! It's was just a question ⁉️ no need to be rude! We just walked out, no need to get to their level!
It's online ordering even inside the shack which is very convenient! Service was friendly & efficient as the wait was not long. However, I wanted Jerk chicken wings and there were none. My husband ordered the Jerk chicken bowl with cabbage & rice with a side of plantain (excellent in taste/texture). The Jerk chicken seemed to not have been seasoned with sufficient Jamaican spices as the sauce poured on top had a sweet catsup taste without any 'heat'! Hope other selections are better.
We decided to check this place out for take out after seeing it on TV and being close to where we were staying. My wife and my mother in law are from the islands so we were excited about trying them out. It was more of a 50/50 hit. We ordered stewed chicken, curry chicken, roti, and plantains. Roti with split peas was excellent. Plantains were also great. Chicken dish curry dish was not good. Curry was NOT cooked down enough. There was a bitter taste from it. Stewed chicken was just okay. You can tell they use fresh herbs on their meals but maybe a little more attention to detail on the cooking process.
One of my favorite places for take out!If you like authentic food from the Caribbean you must try this place "The Carib Shack".Absolutely fantastic!! Every time!! They are consistent with quality as well as quantity.If you enjoy some spicy Caribbean food, with all different levels of heat and exceptional flavor. You must give this place a try.They are constantly adding new items to an already fairly extensive menu. Their food is always fresh, they use only the best quality meat and produce and their food is always bursting with all different flavors of the caribbean..Should spicy items not be your first choice, then you can always find other great selections, such as their fantastic burgers.As I mentioned, this is one of my favorite local take out spots! I cannot say enough about the food and the hard working owners who consistently put out a top notch product for their customers. Did I mention they are also originally from the U.S Virgin Islands of St. Thomas. They definitely know what they are doing and we are extremely fortunate to have them in our community as a local take out restaurant.
We ordered Carib Shack online for lunch. The food was delicious. The cheeseburgers and tacos are yum. They even have a Shack Veggie bowl for those who don’t eat meat. Definitely worth the short drive from the boardwalk.
Stopped in and got the Cubano and a burger before heading to Deadline Project Brewing for some good beer. The sandwich was amazing and the fried okra was the best I’ve had in a while. It is a “shack” in the sense that it is carry out only.
I've worked near this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed once! The owners are extremely personable, nice, and care about what they do. Every time I have shown up, they made absolutely sure my food is just how I wanted it, and i am always pleased by their stellar customer service. Their food is absolutely to die for, especially if you love jerk chicken or curry!!! Absolutely worth visiting if you live nearby, are passing by, or are from out of town.
Amazing hole in the wall. Definitely an order-and-go-outside kind of place, but only because it’s so small. It’s clean and service is quick and the food is so, so good. Can’t recommend it highly enough! Get mamma’s beef bowl, you won’t regret it!
Came here on vacation and choose this restaurant due to its large variety for vegetarians!! Great food, we wanted to eat inside but currently take out only.
the lady recommended the jerk bowl, its spicy but its good. tried the loaded jerk fries too. Definitely worth the try!
