Took my family of four to Cactus Jack's for "Southwestern Food" and we all ordered the burritos. What we got didn't resemble or taste like any burrito we'd ever had before and the colors were repulsive. Some sort of unappetizing onion - pepper- small bits of beef-in-brown sauce mess in a tortilla. Whoever heard of burritos covered in some sort of cheese with deep-fried potato scattered over it? With all of our newly arrived residents from down south available, can't they find anyone who knows how burritos are made? The kids didn't eat very much - only I ate an appreciable amount but that's because I ate out of green cans for a couple of years while I was in the Marines. Then the final piece de resistance: we go a bill for $109 for four "burritos" and two lemonades, a coke and a glass of water! The place was noisy, the service indifferent - but the parking was adequate. Unfortunately, we won't be back.

This place is right on the strip (across from the ocean) and super convenient for grabbing a bite to eat. There is indoor & outdoor seating, very welcoming staff, extremely quick service, and has a cute & comfortable atmosphere. I'm only giving this place three stars because the food & drinks were just "ok" for the price, and I hate that gratuity is automatically included for a 2 person table. When did this become a common practice? Lbvs

Nice location near the beach and a nice outdoor seating area to people watch. Seemed understaffed which you cannot blame them for, the waitstaff was working hard but service quality does suffer when they are short. Food was ok, seemed pricey for what it is but does seem about average for the area. We ordered the homemade guacamole but it never came, so I can’t rate that. I was a little disappointed by the menu choices, not a lot to choose from. I settled on the taco trio, trying the pork, steak and brisket. The brisket taco was awesome, the steak was very good too. I’d recommend those two. The pork was awful, way too many pumpkin seeds but the pork meat itself was just about all fat and I found a bond the size of a quarter with it, not sure how the kitchen missed that. My daughter had fries and Mac and cheese which was good. My wife had the crab salad and she said it was on the bland side, not a lot of flavor. I had two drinks, the margarita was disappointing for a southwest grill, the rum drink I had was very good. My biggest gripe would be the $8 “milkshake coolers”. I’m guessing they don’t actually put any ice cream in it and just use island oasis smoothie mix with ice and syrup. It tasted like chocolate milk with ice, my daughter would t even drink it. For the price I felt like it was misleading and awful. Overall atmosphere was good, service was doing the best they could but food and drink fell short so I don’t think I’d go back.

I was lucky enough to have Hannah as a server. I couldn’t check into my hotel early and had to be online for work so I took up real estate for hours. She was attentive and fantastic. An up-seller, recommender, and consistent refiller! Everything I want in a server! She’s everything I hope I was years ago in her spot. Also, I may be over sharing but she helps out her brother who is a wounded vet. Take care of her. She deserves it!

Drinks:Where do I begin with this place, I think the theme they are going for is Texmex but the execution wasn’t up to par. First we started with couple of drinks ie. water, pink lemonade (Minute Maid), margarita, and another mix drink.Appetizers:From there proceeded to order chips & mango salsa along with the fried calamari. Oh the mango salsa was watery with no flavor to it. I’m pretty sure that came out of packet because it was no way it was made fresh. The calamari could’ve been seasoned better and perhaps a new batter as well. Also they may have been lightly cooked because they were a bit chewy.Entrees:For the entree I only ordered a half Cesar salad which was pretty decent just needed some extra dressing on it. Along with the crab & corn chowder soup which I knew had to be good but once again it was an disappointed. The soup had absolutely no flavor to it, I even made sure by letting someone sample as well to make sure i wasn’t being extra.Others had tacos which came with that watery packet mango salsa. Another ordered the avocado crab salad which they mentioned it was decent. But the overall consensus was we do not need to come back here

Went twice in one day to this place. First time was for their signature cocktail Cactus Punch which was delicious and the service at the bar was great. We came back a few hours later because we had such a pleasant experience. However, our experience was horrible. Our server lacked interest and attentiveness to us. We felt neglected and uncared for. We experienced extremely long wait times for all aspects of our order. When we were ready to go the waitress was nowhere to be found for north of 10 minutes. Finally she appears and is taking several photos for another table and ignoring our desire to pay and leave. It was miserable and cringy to say the least. We decided to only order and appetizer because of how long we had to wait for both our drinks and the appetizer itself. This restaurant should be avoided unless you just want a midday drink. On top of the horrible service it is also slightly overpriced and drink portion sizes are extremely small. I will not be going back and I am extremely unhappy with this experience.

This was my favorite meal of our whole vacation! We went here for dinner and had a wonderful server, Lauren. The food was just delicious! My daughter had the pulled pork. My granddaughters chose a steak and the other a burrito which was huge. My salmon was cooked to perfection and the seasoned fries topped it off. All of us loved the chips and queso as our appetizer. There was a return visit for drinks and queso!

Enjoyed my meal and it was very tasty. I was a solo diner and the staff was very nice and attentive. The restaurant is clean and I wish I had gone back there my second night in VA Beach because this was better than the restaurant I went to my second evening.

The food took an exorbitant amount of time to come out and our server was inattentive and impersonal. The hostess was phenomenal and there were other servers who saw we were in need and attended to us. We were charged an automatic gratuity without it being disclosed. Overall poor experience but the hostess and other servers really deserve to be commended.

The wings and Quesadillas are great. Excellent musician playing when I visited for dinner. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
