Trying to figure it out. Great waitress working hard she was pregnant. Service good. Ordered chicken and waffle for the first time ever. Crowded. I was highly underwhelmed with my dish. Portions three small tenders , like really small, was not hot. The sweet tea was bland. I asked about the seasoning on the tenders and she said they don't season cause of complaints ???. I am curious what is the dish they are famous for that brings in the crowd. Maybe I am missing something. I also realize I didn't get honey butter.
This was a great experience. The host and our waiter were the best ever. The food itself was delicious. The biggest critic I have if any was for the shrimp and crab pasta the asparagus was under cooked by my taste.
Ok- let me first say I usually love Bakers Crust, but it is something about the Hilltop location and I won’t be returning any time soon. Here’s my experience:It was a very hot day so they didn’t have anyone to serve on the patio - no problem. I’ll order my food at the bar and just eat it on the patio. There was a swarm of flies at the bar. Not just one or two but an excessive amount of flies. GROSS. There were two bartenders - neither of them addressed me for a few minutes as I stood there looking lost. Finally I asked if someone could take my order. One young lady cheerily said she could. After She took my order, she handed me the machine and told me “leave a tip” first of all… I’m offended. I ALWAYS tip. There’s never going to be anyone that can say that I don’t tip well, and I don’t need a reminder to tip. I didn’t respond but I looked at her and proceeded to pay for my meal. That was out of line. She didn’t give me any instructions for picking up my food or if I should wait outside for it - so I asked her. She said it would take 10-15 minutes… 15 minutes goes by and no one got my food. I happen to look up and the bartender who asked for the tip was leaving for the day. I inquired about my food and she said “I don’t know go in and ask…” at this point I’m fuming. But… I go in another young lady goes in the back gets a Togo bag and hands it to me.When I get it, My food is not prepared properly. I ordered the Charleston chicken and avocado. The breading was coming off of the sandwich. The sandwich was very sloppily made - literally thrown together - it was missing bacon and one side of the chicken was rubbery which made me think it was undercooked. The tavern chips were good, though so no complaints there. However, I spent $25 that I can’t get back and I was so disgusted when I left.So- If you like bakers crust, try Landstown or Norfolk for better service and food. Hilltop is always a bust for me. And - if you have ever seen Bar Rescue - the flies at the bar will make your stomach turn.
The staff and food were great! This is a good place to visit if you are looking for trendy American food. I got their breakfast burrito, and it was very tasty!
Great place for trying some of the local craft beers. We really liked the beer, wine and champagne taps along the back wall of the bar. Menu is not very vegetarian friendly, but there are some items available. Portion sizes are good too. Good atmosphere.
Stellar service!!Went alone for a late brunch recharge. Buttermilk tenders were cooked perfectly but not seasoned enough for my palette. I get they may not want flavors to contradict, but a firm believer that each food should stand on it's own. Waffle was perfectly done and the honey butter was to die for!
A party of 2 that came in after my sister and I was seated before us. Not a great start but we waited patiently for another 5 minutes before we were seated at a table. Our waitress was prompt and attentive. She saved the experience and I wish I remembered her name so she could get a shout out. The food was amazing! The menu is well thought out and full of things I want to come back and try. I was impressed with the option to pay by QR code and took advantage of that.
Usually I don't do reviews on places unless it's terrible. I am so impressed with today's visit that I just had to post about it. First timer here, walking into the place you are immediately greeted with a smile. We had Kelsey as our waitress and she was training a new employee. Service was absolutely amazing. She was very attentive, helpful and friendly. We also had the manager Adam walk over and greeted us with a sample platter since it was my first time there. He was very sweet as well. All the food was delicious. I got the bacon burger and oh my goodness it was one of the best burgers I have had. You guys are rockstars and I can't wait to come back!
Katey helped me plan a catered baby shower event at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. And I can not say enough about how amazing their entire crew was. They helped me set up the space. They served an INCREDIBLE assortment of appetizers, food and drinks. Katey was always available to answer any of my questions. And really was just so kind and thoughtful. We love Baker's Crusts food and menus. They are our go-to on a girls day out for lunch. It just made sense they cater this event as well. They were so professional. And I really just enjoyed every aspect of working with them and, especially, Katey. Well done.
my husband and I tried to order online since we always seem to want to order on Tuesday’s when they are closed. We went through the menu decided and then when trying to order online it said they were closed as of 2:40pm. So he called. They answered and he asked if they were open then asked if we could call right back with our order. The girl said yes …. We’ll 5 minutes later for the last 20+ minutes the line is ringing busy!!!! It almost feels like the phone was left off the hook now ????????? so pissed!
